    I had this happen to me in RS. Not as bad but 100mph in, Perfect-Perfect, 98MPH out. And this bottom 9th 2 outs in a tie game. Ball died in CF and I lost in extra innings.

    The script was in. This game 100% has those scripted mechanics like Fifa Ultimate team had, someone exposed that looking through its code a few years back. Other guy probably spend more on microtranscations than you.

    Yeah I just calculated it out and the bat speed would have to be around 5 mph to get and exit velo of 93 on a 98 mph heater lmao I knew taking that physics course would come in handy one day

    I hit a no-doubter with Cano (mariners) against a lefty (he has 45 power vs LHP) in a conquest game on All-star. It was a good contact hit, not perfect, which makes absolutely no sense! Either attributes mean nothing or it is just a bit too random!

    Wow this game is so broken

    The game is nowhere near "broken". There are definitely some aspects of it that need work though. Just like any other game. But I think we are over using that word. If this game is "broken" then most games out there are straight trash.

    Yes, must games out there are straight trash and must of us would never play them, this game is headed that way too. Diamond infielders making errors every game, perfect release on pitches going to the middle of the play, inconsistent results when hitting that are not possible irl. Outside of the way the game looks, I say is broken.

    Then you did the problem wrong. The pitch speed in the equation must start out as negative exit velocity vector since it is coming toward to batter.

    Good lord this is dumb.

    First of all, it most certainly is physically possible to barrel the ball and hit is slower than the pitch speed. Things that factor into exit velocity include: mass of batter, mass of bat used by batter, speed of bat, speed of ball, spin of ball leaving bat, trajectory of bat leaving ball.

    Second, a pitch thrown 98 MPH is NOT traveling 98 MPH when it hits the bat, it's traveling 98 MPH a few feet in front of the pitcher. The ball, due to drag, will lose about 1 MPH per 7 ft traveled. Therefore, if a pitch is 98 MPH 53 ft from home plate, and is contacted a foot in front of home plate, then the ball was moving 90-91 MPH when contacted.

    You should use normal swing and not “super extra light just swing with only your arms and make contact with the ball” swing. Because that’s The only physical way that could happen in real life.

    Nope did it right. The exit velo coefficient for a "perfect barrel" in warm conditions is between 0.1 and 0.2 so I used 0.15... The equation was coffitient*pitch Speed + (1+coeffitient)*batspeed at Impact.

    Spin has a huge impact on distance. Fastballs require the bat to completely change the direction of spin, where as a curveball with top spin the bat accelerated the spin in the same direction. It's why curveballs are hit farther than fastballs despite traveling slower.

    That is right. So your math is wrong. It comes out to about 62 mph bat speed if the coefficient is 0.2, which is what it is for a normal wood bat. You also have to take into account that a 99 mph pitch will be about 90 mph when it reaches the plate. Try the math again, maybe I am wrong.

    Exit Velo = 93 = (0.2)(90) + (1+0.2)(bat speed)
    93= 18 + 1.2(bat speed)
    75= 1.2 (bat speed)
    bat speed = 62.5 mph

    My mistake my answer was 65 mph but I accidentally put 5. 62 mph and 65 is the same because of sig figs so we agree haha

    I’m not down with the physics, so I apologise for this question. Was it just determined that a negative exit velocity (less than the pitch speed) is possible on perfect/perfect, or something like that?

    If so, well done! Does that mean that the game doesn’t need a correction after all?
