It’s just sad to see this game finally go the EA route, they’re killing their player base with this new program setup, they have absolutely made no money spent impossible. This grind is ridiculous, we should be able to replay the showdowns like last year for progress can only play it once now. It’s gonna be nothing but wallet warriors in ranked seasons, hopefully the next program will be different, but the way of this new program layout is HORRIBLE they had no reason to change it, ppl praised this game for the programs and grind 99, they changed their model up and are going the EA route. RIP to what used to be the best ultimate team mode.
Maybe it’s all an April fools joke ??

What’s wrong with spending money?

We want double XP!!!!

What showdowns could you replay for progress? Other than RIB?
I supposed he’s talking about the Team Affinity ones. But obviously there wouldn’t be those this year since there’s no team affinity program. Of course we could just wait until the game has been out longer than 16 hours to judge what kinds of programs and grinds it will have.

Yep, SDS finally caught on and they are banking on it literally

I feel like they are just trying to find a balance. Last year was way too easy to complete TA. It made most inning bosses pointless because they were not better than all of the TA cards you could get for free. TA could be completed fully in a couple of days I do hate the fact you don't get to choose who you get in the non auctionable pack, but maybe they change that next program. Is it better or worse than last year, Ill give it more than 24 hours before I make that determination.

Just play the conquest map that rewards 5 packs for beating 3 strongholds. Farm that.
I'm going to do that for a while and see what I can get plus the mini seasons when that works

@kovz88_psn said in New program has absolutely killed NMS:
People would be able to grind more if they didn't make 5 topics comparing SDS to EA on day 1 of early access.
I agree, but I'm just wondering what there is to grind other than the basic program and USA Map. There's only so much you can do with those. I don't think the sky is falling, I'm not worried that this is now a Money spent game. I just like grindable content. More than 1 central rewards path. I like getting lots pf cards not because they make me more competitive or for the financial aspect but playing with 1 squad gets insanely boring. Roster diversication is a lot more fun and thus far there are not a ton of options....but it's not even really opening day yet. I am planning a huge concession speech if the game turns out awesome.
-
It's almost like they just want people to play the game instead of grinding one thing over and over to try and get all the cards.

Almost like the servers are on maintenance right now. I’m simply pointing out what a lot of the community is talking about. They have changed things and it’s NOT for the better. You just haven’t played this game long obviously.
I've been playing the Show since it originally started actually. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't make them a new player. Honestly you sound like the new guy if you don't think with their track record they are gonna add plenty of programs and other ways to grind for stuff. People made the same complaint last year 'casuals are never gonna get the bosses'. A month into the game you never heard that again
"You must be new" = "I cannot make a decent argument, so I'll insult you instead!"

You can still use NMS as your team abbreviation if it makes you feel any better.

Maybe now "NMS" might be cool...everyone was NMS last year!
-
It’s always harder the first few months to be NMS, but come October they give everything away and you can complete everything, this is their time of year to make money.. It’s day 1.
-
Also is this was EA you’d have to exchange 58 83 overalls to get one face of the franchise.

Last year you could replay a showdowns for each division for team affinity players for program points, now it’s just one showdown that gives you xp ONE time
I assume you didn't watch the stream or you watched and didn't pay attention.
They more or less said that people abused TA last year and used it as the main way to get the best cards and that isn't how DD was meant to be.
TA was supposed to be something to play in-between content drops.
Not to play Showdown repetitively so you can complete the program ASAP.
I stated in another post if you were decent enough to skip to the last boss and beat them; you could complete a showdown in 15 mins. If the program was 150 pts long per division and you got 30 pts per Showdown; you you finish a division in a little over an hour.
They wanted to stop that.
But if you're still upset that you can't cheat the system for quick XP; just head to YouTube. I'm sure there are a few videos already, by content creators, that show how you can play the CPU for an hour just by walking in runs and get up to 75K in XP.
You're complaint about having to actually play the game as it was intended instead of being able to abuse the system by playing one thing for hours on hours.
You're right, some are complaining about that...but not all. I simply want the content back. I don't care if it takes me months to complete it all, in fact I wish I did. I don't want to have to ration my grinding for fear of running out.
Do away with the the exploits to skip through the program, Exchanges and Showdowns and collections should be a tiny piece of the puzzle. I'm all for making gameplay the main means of earning XP, program points, whatever.
TA was not just a filler program last year. Perhaps that's what they're saying to justify it's removal but It was by far the best, most lucrative program with the best cards and most missions, moments and means to earn points. If it was just a "between content" drop program, why did it feature the top cards in the game like Finest, All Star Game and 99 legends in the last 3 seasons alone? Why did they have weeks of reveals and a huge live stream right before it launched? They treated TA as the main event last year and so I at least, adopted it as such.
My ask is simple, just have more rewards paths and conquests so offline players have more to do. If this is anything like the innings programs, most of us will be done in a few weeks and have to wait for the next drop. Like I said, I stretched TA5 out for 2 months so I didn't run out of content last season. I could have knocked it out in a week like many did but I just don't find that fun. All I had to do was play the game and skip the exchanges, moments and collections.
@Kovz88_PSN made a good point, SDS has a proven track record of great and robust content so we should allow them to unfold their plan without screaming for refunds. It's just hard to say goodbye to a program you love. I spent my first 3 weeks last year stumbling around the site because I didn't know what I was doing. Then I learned how to roster build around Team Affinity missions and it took off for me. I had a blast. I'm really hoping that happens this year and if it comes in a different package that's equally rewarding (in fun, not just packs) I'll embrace it. But I think it's fair that people look back to opening day last year and see how this game has been cut back considerably.

I did not see that stream, but that's pretty lame on SDS's part. That's kinda like saying "Going to Work is meant to provide you with money, but people were abusing working overtime so we're gonna close the doors. Where a lot of places just limit the amount of overtime you're allowed to work." How about you don't make Showdowns Repeatable.

I have a 97 team overall in Madden and didn’t spend a dollar so honestly it can be done

We're still in early access we have no idea what they will add in the next 4 weeks of this program.
But I realize that preaching patience is futile to those who just want to shout at everyone that the sky is falling.
Also, get off my lawn!!

It hasn’t killed NMS and neither has Madden. Madden just feels less rewarding for the grind and that appears to be the direction here, too, though it is too early to be sure.
In Madden, solo grinding no longer gets you cards that you can sell nor use in your lineups. That isn’t true for this game, yet.
You just haven’t played the game for long if you think this new grind for this program is how things used to be, you used to be able to replay showdowns and grind. They have changed things COMPLETELY.it’s early maybe they will bring something, but replayable showdowns or something needs to come back. Or else you’ll grind for a card that isn’t sellable that you might not even use lol. You grind all that time get an unsellable sean murphy then the program switches.
I can't be the only one who clicked on COMPLETELY.it just to see where it would take them
-
My only gripe is that I grind and grind but my stub count remains pitiful.
Other than that, I don’t mind the changes too much. People who harken back to the salad days of slamming through Showdown to have a day 2 god squad need to remember that Showdown came unto the game 2 years ago and not everyone lived it. It was tedious and kept me from playing games with the team I assembled. As a NMS player, I get the feeling that compared to the wallet warriors I will have to resign myself to always playing with what might be a slightly outdated squad…and if I have skills that will be ok.
Better rewards for mini-seasons would be a welcome exchange in my book.
