My life mentality is do what puts the least amount of stress on yourself. Work bringing you down? Don't bring it home with you, as soon as you punch out, work doesn't exist. Your job bringing you extreme stress? Find a way to lessen your work load if possible. Enjoy life, don't stress through it.

The nature of work has changed and is highly flexible. Ballplayers wake up at 12, workout, take a nap, show up at the ballpark 3 hours before the game, meet with press, warmup, play a 3 hour game, meet with press again, fly to the next city, in bed at 4 am. And this is 7 days a week for 7 months. Off-seasons can involve business deals, training, and even winter leagues.

I get up 5 minutes before work and sign into work at 8:30 in my underwear. I then proceed to work, drink coffee, and post on these forums until I sign off at 5:00.

Who has the real “9-5 job”?

And if you don’t like your situation, change it. I assume you live in a free country.

    No, I don’t. Unfortunately.

    This just got interesting....

He lives in Russia where people are actually being oppressed.

I could debate this topic all day. If you want to be technical then yeah. Technically as an Army Ranger, I was trained and conditioned to preform under pressure. You have to have some degree of athleticism to be a special operations operative. And most special operations men and women are extremely fit and can preform at high levels in various sports. Mainly endurance sports like marathons and various alterations of that sport.

To your point I’d agree and disagree. It’s hard to argue the words “professional athlete” because you do get paid to train and preform in your discipline physically as a special operations operative. That in definition is a professional athlete. Yet that encompasses a lot of other professions as well. I guess perspectively is where I’d disagree. Definition wise I don’t.

Anyways, nothing but love for any professions that provide an essential public and national service. Professional Athletes or not I’d alway consider them heroes.

I hope this doesn't come off as "pandering", but thank you to all of you on this forum who have served in the military/public service. I think there are a lot of you out there.

The whole reason that I can sit here comfortably in my office and focus 100% of my brainpower on figuring out the shortest path through a Conquest map is because of folks like you. I'm definitely spoiled.

And... to @Bob_Loblaw1984... Grammarly said that "brainpower" is one word, not two. I really thought it was two. I don't send a post out without letting Grammarly tell me what I've done wrong.

I have mixed feelings. It made me more mature and focused but it also took me about 10 years to get into a more sensitive mentality. I definitely had some of the wildest nights of my life in the military. The military knows how to party
