Don't take it personal. I'll admit I'm old and don't understand it. Google Japanese cartoon and see what comes up.
I get it, they look like cartoons. Some anime are definitely super kiddy oriented but there are plenty with super deep stories that deal with serious issues.
Aside from that I don't blame anyone that doesn't like the card art but I get why they are doing it. Japanese superstar on the cover. Here hoping we get a Hideki Matsui reveal.A Hideo Nomo reveal would be cool too.
Beat me too it. He was my first choice after seeing Matsui mentioned.

Nintendo switch users? It does have a lot going on, but I’m also a minimalist so really like the milestone cards from this year.

I like this alot, I think having a card series match the special editions of the game is perfect. Last year with the 42 series. It was simple design to match the player and theme now this year we get something completely different then we have ever seen before which matches who Otani is something we have never seen before.
I know there some arguments that this is cartoonish or why use legends for it but man the art is amazing and why not see players from long ago in a different way this is after all a fantasy game mode. Also what a nice touch to do it in black and white mixing the old and the new man this is so good. Can't wait to see more. Griffey card is a must!!!

I'm an older Baby Boomer and don't like the new cover art at all. I get Ohtani but still don't like it. Now Mantle? BOOOOO
I'm an old schooler baseball when you could pitch inside, throw chin music and even hit a guy in the ribs for showing you up. Heck Drysdale hit Aaron more times than you can count and he never charged the mound. Today there are so many prima-donnas that pitchers get run for hitting guys with curveballs. I guess I'm getting too old for baseball video games when they bring in cartoons or animes or whatever the he11 you want to call it. -
