I'm really hoping the angry hard core gamers that are not enjoying the tech test move on. So please, pretty please with sugar on top don't waste your money on the game. Let the TRASH players or what i like to call recreational players like myself enjoy the game. So take that $60 and buy a book I'd start with "What's Next after High School" by Juliet Murphy
This kid right here is what I like to call "a fanboy for billionaires and people who couldn't care less about you". People like him will defend the people who view their consumers as dollar signs instead of actual human beings. It's pathetic. Let me guess...you're a COD fan boy as well? Okay with paying for mediocre, unfinished games that are just made to take your money. I come from a time that when you booted up and played a game, that was it. No updates, nothing. It had to be complete when it shipped and when it wasn't, people just didn't play it. Developers make the games with the "oh I'll finish it later" mentality, but never actually do and move on to the next annual release because they know idiots like you will still buy it.
Um........ you have been buying them to up to this point.
On top of the fact this is the laziest excuse possible. This game is the only mainstream MLB game that has any type of production value nowadays (production value is stretching it) so if I (an ACTUAL baseball fan) wants to play a baseball game on a game system...this is the only plausible choice. That's called a monopoly and it's actually pretty illegal, but nowadays apparently people forgot or if they didn't, they just don't care. They'll just defend the billionaires.
It's not a lazy excuse, you specifically said developers make unfinished games because they know idiots will still buy them. Why are other people who buy it idiots, but you who also buy it is not?
Also it's not illegal, see major league baseball.
You're a [censored] moron. There's college baseball, Korean league, Japanese league, Mexican league, Dominican league, among MANY others all over the world. If someone wants to play baseball they don't NEED to play in MLB. That's not a monopoly.
Bringing up foreign leagues is not a good argument, because U.S laws don't extend to other countries. And you can only play college baseball when you are in college.
And I wasn't referring to the mere act of playing baseball.
Lmfao of course. When I bring up a point of there being more than one baseball league and a choice for people to go to said leagues regardless of it being a player or another job in the game. That's not a [censored] monopoly. The only way MLB the Show isn't is if we consider other sports games in the scenario, which is a HUGE stretch.
Let me explain it slowly.....
Major League Baseball is exempt from the anti-trust act, having leagues in other countries where U.S. law doesn't apply isn't proof against a monopoly. I can really tell on your lack of economics here.
When Standard Gas and Oil was busted as a monopoly back in the day, this may shock you but in other parts of the world, there were other gas and oil companies! So does that mean Standard gas and oil wasn't a monopoly in the United States?
Oh my god...I give up with you morons. We were talking about MLB the Show being a monopoly. Not MLB. Has nothing to do with anything.
If we were only talking about MLBTS and not MLB in terms of monopoly, why would you randomly bring up some foreign leagues? Unless of course you were talking about MLB's monopoly or lack there of.
Because you brought up MLB being a monopoly.......................and it's just not. I didn't even mention the independent leagues in the United States................loo
So there, it was brought up and we were talking about it, so why did you just say
"We were talking about MLB the Show being a monopoly. Not MLB. Has nothing to do with anything."
I'm getting confused here!
I am not the one who brought up MLB but that shows you didn't read anything, but okay.
I didn't say you brought it up, please point out where I said that.
Do you need me to zoom in on what you said?""We were talking about MLB the Show being a monopoly. Not MLB. Has nothing to do with anything.""

Wow. You really are a special kind of [censored]. If I did not bring up the MLB and YOU did, you're the one completely changing the subject and me, being smarter than you called you out on your [censored]. Now instead of taking the L like a man you will beat around the bush just to try and find a foothold back in the argument. MLB is not a monopoly. MLBTS is a monopoly. Easy as that.
Easy as that huh? Must be nice just declaring something without providing any evidence why
Do I need to circle back to my Standard Oil example or have you already conveniently ignored it?
You brought up monopoly's first, specifically about MLBTS and how it's illegal, so a natural conversation would go towards, hey MLB is actually a monopoly and it's totally cool with the government who gave them a special exemption.
Also lol, I know I'm gaining nothing by saying all this, because your head is probably bigger then all those annoying billionaires (side note I really mean that towards billionaires, screw you MLB owners!) and that's why you are probably to blind to see, but it is giving me a chuckle
MLB IS NOT A MONOPOLY YOU [censored] MORON. American Association of Professional Baseball.
Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.
Empire Professional Baseball League.
Frontier League.
Pioneer League.
Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs.
Pecos League.
United Shore Professional Baseball League. All American baseball leagues. Not a monopoly
MLBTS IS A [censored] MONOPOLY

MLB the Show
Do you see how that works?
Those leagues are all but in name associated with MLB, MLB doesn't care about them existing because they can test out anything they want there. If any of them said no to MLB.... well.....
Are they though? Does MLB own them? No. Not a monopoly. Now stop grasping at straws and sit your [censored] down.
I'm not grasping at straws, if MLB can control what those leagues does and what they can't do, then again, that's ownership all but in name.
Do you need a hug? I feel like we should hug, maybe sing a song around the campfire.
........................"they don't own them, but the leagues help them out with some stuff so that means that they own them and that it's a monopoly". Do you really hear yourself? Learn to take the L, bud.
The term "help them out with stuff" is being disingenuous on the relationship between them.
Perhaps another analogy that you'll also ignore and never address will help you.
If the government decided to have the final say on any change you want to make in your life, but the government also makes no claim that they own or control you, does that mean they don't?
Grasping at straws. So say I have a business, right? And I come to you (in the same business, but INCREDIBLY less successful) and we work together on a project that will benefit both of us. That means I now own your business because I'm more successful? Your logic really is getting worse.
Let's keep going along your line of thinking here. Say your business is more successful then mine, so much so that it has the power to completely shutter mine, and if I don't test out different rules for you, that may very well happen because you are protected in doing so under the law.
This literally has nothing to do with MLB the Show being a monopoly, but
. You do you.Are we really circling back to this? Do you not remember the whole exchange earlier?
You probably do, but pretending you don't. I know your mind literally can't process being wrong, so I don't hold any ill will towards you not being able to see how much circling you've done.

Do you not remember "grasping at straws"?

Wow. You really are a special kind of [censored].

My guy...you're the one who can't keep their argument straight!
Ok, point to where I haven't kept my argument straight?
And if you are going to point out the MLB monopoly versus MLBTS monopoly, we've already discussed and already addressed that in case you have forgotten, if so you can scroll up

Plate Coverage Indicator, the name is self explanatory. If you don't want to hear it, I wouldn't ask the question then. It won't change the entire guts of the game is built around it.
The wrong place at the right time (PCI is off but timing is right) will happen and cause hard hits and good results sometimes.
Yeah. Let me go outside and use my Plate Coverage Indicator to go hit some baseballs...stop with the dumb excuses. I've heard it all before. It doesn't make any sense.
So in one breath ITS A VIDEO GAME and the next it's absurd for the hitting mechanics to be as they are because they're not realistic in your view. Solid arguement
My argument is simple, for the idiots who don't understand, SWING BAT-BAT HITS BALL WITH BARREL-BALL GO ZOOOOOOOOOM. SWING BAT-BAT NO WHERE CLOSE TO BALL-BAT MISSES BALL. If you really can't understand that then I have no sympathy.
You have a perspective and it is not absolute -- at best, its an opinion. Your best bet is to tame the ego. Maybe go outside and play with your PCI.
No it is absolute. Too many people just follow whatever someone with power tells them, instead of asking questions and not just being thankful for piles and piles of [censored] to be fed to you. "Please sir, may I have some more?". I am confident in the fact that you should not be able to swing a bat, be nowhere close to the ball, and still make contact. I am also confident in the fact if you barrel up the ball it should go fast. That is absolute, because IT IS BASED OFF OF PHYSICS, NOT ALGORITHMS! The only people who don't think that way are the ones that get bailed out by bad gameplay design.
Being pedantic here, but our laws of physics are basically a bunch of algorithms so technically speaking…
Best use of the word "pedantic" all year.

List of actual baseball games

Can you point to where I said it's the only league in America.
Also I can do the same exact thing to your argument to make it look like I won by misrepresenting what you said.
The government thing was an analogy, which again you conveniently ignore and just want to pretend I'm actually talking about the government owning you, probably because your mind makes you in order to make you feel like you won.
The google definition of an analogy - a comparison between two things, typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification.

You are not the government though. So you do not deem MLB a monopoly. They do not deem it a monopoly either soooooooooo.....you're dumb?
I never claimed to be the goverment.
And the goverment actually does, why do you think they gave them an exemption from the anti-trust act? Why would you need an exemption if you weren't one?
You sure as hell claim to think MLB is a monopoly even though it clearly isn't though...lol

A monopoly would imply it's the only league in the US [censored]...
You: "Point to the flaws in my argument"
Me: "Okay here's this, this and this"
You: "Okay, but point to where I had a flaw in my argument"No, you just have a very simplistic view of a monopoly, while the word mono suggests one, it's really more complicated then that, I would suggest you to read up on the history and evolution of monopolies and the laws created around them.

If the government and economic experts agree that MLB is a monopoly, I'm pretty safe in claiming that is in fact a monopoly.
You can hold onto your 1800's monopoly view, that's fine, but it's evolved beyond that.

Because it is a legal loophole for the government to call it a monopoly even though by actual definition it is not a monopoly. Not my fault our government doesn't actually read the dictionary to know what a monopoly actually is.

Again, it's on you for holding onto the antiquated idea of monopolies. It's not the 1800s anymore, please take some economic classes or even just read up on the subject.
If it's not a monopoly, why would the government care to call it one and then give it an exemption and do nothing anyway? That would be pointless
