What do they normally have in the deluxe edition that is not on the standard?
Yay, I can finally stop saying, it's my first year. Freshman blues are over.
Well this year the gave out 2 42 Series packs, 5 LS Gold Choice Packs, 25K in stubs, a Diamond Equipment pack, 20 The Show packs, plus you got Early Access which allowed you to play the game 3 days prior to the original release date.
Yes 3 days early accesses with a lot of system crashes. I remember the early threads and how hard it was for the servers. Sure we get the occasional problem but it's nothing close to what early accesses was like. Don't think I'll be pre ordering this year.

I find it unlikely Jeter will even be in the game. If he is, he will not be an end game card until his highest cards is released around October. Also, Early Access is basically just beta and for them to fix servers. I got burned last year. I am waiting until the game is released this year.

You're right, though I'd add a few names to that list:
A-Rod (gross)
Clemens
Dimaggio
Cobb
Koufax
Canseco 40/40I think Koufax may be the only one from that list who moves the needle for a reveal. Rodriguez and Clemens are universally disliked. We've already had Cobb so it wouldnt be a big reveal. As great as Joe was, his card would underperform on this game. Canseco was as big a star as there was, but his apex was pretty short. His card would be decent, but people would ultimately complain about his terrible defense.

Hard to argue with the picks here for cover boys. You have the most dynamic player in the game currently in Ohtani and a household icon in Jeter. Really can't understand who would be unhappy with these two choices as it is a total win-win scenario.

So if you look at that guy's Twitter the account is 2 days old, and only has the one tweet. I think there's a strong chance that he's trolling off of the leak trying to get people to second guess.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it SDS trying to throw people off after Nintendo messed up.

I've been hoping that SDS would go for a Golden Age player. We lost Hank Aaron last year, so I'm hoping it's him. They did a fantastic thing last year by starting a scholarship with the Jackie Robinson Foundation from the Deluxe Edition. I hope they follow up this year with something similar.
With another thought, since Ohtani is on the regular cover and is a two-way player, maybe they'll have Babe Ruth, another two-way player.
Either way, it doesn't matter to me. I don't buy the game because of the cover.

I agree with who is on the cover, but it would be cool to have Jeter in the game despite everyone saying he would be mediocre. Having him on the cover obviously assures that and it would be cool to have a Postseason collection or World Series collection like the 42s to start the season and Jeter have a 99 Postseason or WS card as the reward.
I know everyone is giving him silver defense and above average speed but stick him in a 2001 PS card using the Jeter flip or him flying into the crowd and call it diamond. Use his November 1st HR against the Dbacks and give him 90+ power. This is imaginary. The year Pujols hit his 500th HR he was nowhere near maxed power and 115+ contact not to mention his 68 speed yet here we are.
