Kirby Puckett was a serial misogynist and philanderer. All this stuff was suppressed during his playing days because of what he meant to the Twins organization during his playing days. It took his former teammates to finally tell the story of the real Kirby Puckett. He was a despicable human being who beat his wife and had a decades long affair with several woman during his playing days. It’s also believed that he fathered multiple children outside of his marriage. The fact that he even got a card this year was disappointing.
Sounds like he should’ve played in the NBA.

Agreed. I hate that SDS did this. No one needs morality lessons from video game companies. This makes me more likely to play a different baseball game in the future.
You're assuming that SDS made the call. I would not put it past the MLB to have passed down a mandate to SDS after the Alomar issue.

Hardcore racism???? You mean the one tweet he made when he was in high school that he took responsibility for and explained that it was meant as a joke and taken out of context. Not sure that makes him a “hardcore racist”. Come on guys let’s let the stupidity rest. Kirby Puckett is not a current player and if his behavior that is brought to light years after it happened are deemed to be unacceptable by SDS, they have a right to discontinue their association with said individual. Bauer is a current player and with that being said SDS’s partnership with the players union might not allow them to take action against current players. The issues brought up in this post are like comparing apples to oranges.

And I guess being an abuser of woman must be acceptable for a person to engage in. After thinking about it for a day, I’m highly disappointed we won’t get a high-level Puckett. He was never convicted of anything and all the allegations are quite old. Alomar, if I recall, had something recent pop up AND was then BANNED from baseball. Different story there.
Alomar was not banned from baseball he was placed on their ineligible list which means he cannot hold positions of employment within MLB. If he had been banned he would have his bust removed from the HOF and had all association with MLB removed.

I doubt Hader is a “hardcore racist.” Seems like it would cause some issues in his daily life as pro baseball player, in a very diverse league. I’d agree with what was said earlier. Posting something dumb as a high schooler doesn’t make you a “hardcore racist.” Also to be clear, what he did post was offensive and unacceptable. But many people learn from their mistakes and mature as they grow into adults.
