I admit: I’m old and I’m not up on the latest slang. Can someone tell me what a “thirsty” player is and what a “sheep” player is?
I understand someone can be a “sheep” in other contexts but I am a little confused as to how someone can be a sheep in this game.

Around these parts if you don’t think this game sucks and yet continue to play and post every day then you’re some sort of sheep or shill

Brooooo, just stop playing online at the very least. I promise not every player is out to bone you. I get that certain types of play can be annoying but they aren't illegal. I have yet to play somebody who seemed like they were cheating. The few freeze offs I've been in, the other player quits before I get a chance to and if they don't, it's usually because they are smashing me. So I quit.
It's obvious you are very passionate about this game which I think most of us are but I'm really curious if you even like it at all.
Personally, I absolutely suck online but I still have fun and try to learn from superior players. I've also had people do me solids on BR and feed me fastballs down the middle for my mission guys, not that I ever expect that. But if you find online to be so toxic, just grind offline 99 (can't believe I just wrote that, please take my man card) and chill on online play. You don't need it for anything. I have every card in the game..........except Alomar!@$!%#!^#,$?@:÷,÷ zjdjevdhej!!!!!!......sorry, my inner completionist had a panic attack....and I played only 1 full season of BR and nothing else online.

His game history already shows 5 games played this afternoon, two of which he got wins while the score was still 0-0.

Glad you asked, I'm old and was just about to ask myself. Been seeing thirsty a lot recently may be the first time seeing sheep used

Sheep is a common slam that haters of any video game love to drag out anytime someone does not agree with their negative opinions.
