Is it true that some players just hit better with cards than other cards?

I said this on my last post and I'll say it again. I am of course a first year player so I haven't completely figured out this game yet. There's something I've been wondering though.

I'm awful at hitting. My batting average has to be like around .150 this year lol. It's difficult. However, it just seems that with some players, no matter the pitcher, I just get hits with them.

It wasn't until July that I took gold Wade Boggs off my team and I was hitting .316 with him. I got his 99 and I'm currently hitting .450 lol.

Another example is the All star 96 Bogarts. I got him to parallel three so he's a 98. I've had him since he released and I'm hitting (an awesome for me) .286 all time with him.

Is this just a coincidence or is it true that there are players that just work for me?

This is true. I'm terrible with Boegaerts!
    I'm terrible with Jimmie Foxx.
I'm terrible with awards Mookie, and it's sad because I play offline and am batting .286 with him. That's appalling.
I'm terrible with Babe Ruth, at least power-wise. I can't elevate with him so I sold him.
I raked with Signature Longoria, even on HOF in Conquest games, but no one mentions his smooth as butter swing. I also raked with TA and ASG Cronenworth earlier in the season.

It just takes work, I’m a first year player for DD I always played RTTS but just used directional hitting. I just grind and got better with the PCI. Like Chipper. I was hitting .187, now I’m up to like .296. Same with Mookie. Then I’ve gotten to the point where with Jr and Trout I’m already hitting .350 with them. I’m now to the point where I can tell on release if a pitch is a strike or a ball. Something I really struggled with at the start. I’m now starting to work on pinpoint pitching. I was using meter before. It’s not nearly as much of a change as the hitting but it still requires some patience. Just be patient and keep plugging away and then it will all come together

This is absolutely true. I kill it with Mantle but so many struggle with him. I struggled with Ruth at first but now he is hitting around .325, so getting the hang of him. I couldn't hit anything with that 99 Saeger card. Willie Mays was another guy I totally struggled with, so he isn't even on my bench anymore.

@ArcticTrotman14_XBL Different players will be more comfortable with different swing types. Some swings are faster, some are slower, some one handed, some two handed. It seems like you do well with high contact ratings with not super high power, I don’t see many people talking about that but I feel like if you don’t consistently get the ball in the upper part of the pci with high power guys you tend to just lineout or groundout a lot whereas the guys with lower power hit gaps more often - this would make sense to me because that’s kind of the case in real life and this is supposed to be a baseball simulator game.

I for example am absolutely brutal with 99 Mickey Mantle (like .180 average over like 200 abs). I was bad with him last year too, which really frustrates me because he’s one of the best cards in the game. Babe Ruth I’ve also been struggling with, in my first 20ish ABs I probably lined out/grounded out/flied out 16 times, struck out twice, and hit 2 homers. I had to just hit it over the wall or else I’d be lining/grounding/flying out.

You can really test out what works for you by creating a ball player and experimenting with different batting stances/swings. Mike Trout/Trea Turner/Austin Riley/Trevor Story are stances/swings that most people seem to do well with.

For some reason I have been bad with the finest Tre and Trout. I guess bad isn't the best word but definitely not as good as most everyone else and not as good as I hit with Tre's AS card or Trout's LS cards earlier in the year. Griffey, Mantle, Tatis and K. Marte have definitely been my best two hitting cards recently.

Griffey is a beast this year. I started out good with Pujols but now can't hit a lick. Trout hammers the ball. I hit good with Mantle and did last year too but many struggle. My favorite player Mays is a complete struggle. I'm still having trouble with Foxx but he's coming around. For sure people hit better with players than other's do and vice versa.

I only play against the CPU but even then I struggle with some players. Currently my Signature Adam Wainwright card has a higher batting average than 99 Nolan Arenado.

100% true for me. I LOVED All-Star Trea Turner. I spent a lot of sweat and tears earning Finest Trea, and I can't hit anything with him, online or off. Weird.

My catcher for the past 3 years has been Jason Kendall yet I never see anyone use him. Some cards you just get use to. I think this year with parrell made overalls kinda meaningless cause you could just keep using who you liked and improved them

I really like Longoria’s swing. He’s a real sleeper. People just overlook him because the amount of cards in the game,

I have never done well with Foxx either. It just sucks to bat with him.

Their swings are amazing but both are pretty slow on the field. I liked to use them from time to time but with Soto and Freeman being better than them they are not in my sight anymore.
