Best 3B in the Show
-
Every day, SDS is tweeting for people to give their best player at each position. So why not on here? Let's start with a position that is loaded. Who is your best 3B in the Show this year?
My top 5:
- George Brett awards 99
- Chipper Jones awards 99
- Nolan Arenado Signature 99
- Austin Riley Finest 99
- Josh Donaldson award 99
Honorable Mention: Kris Bryant award 97
But there are so many others.....
-
98 trea mid year then devers postseason and now my padres manny
-
Chipper of course GOAT
-
I have to try that Brett card everyone raves about…
-
Yeah, George Brett has been one of my favorite 3Bs. His swing is great and I run with him sometimes with my main squad. I would have to throw in the Moncada Finest card also as top 5.

Brett has this uncanny ability to hit when I'm slumping and can blast off any time. He also hits to left center on inside pitches even when I'm jammed. He also has decent speed. I love Chipper and @Twisted-_-Tea-_PSN I just created a new roster with Manny, Trea, Trout and all the other brand new cards so he may jump up the list.

There are several 3B that I really need to try. Moncada is definitely one of them. Who would you all prioritize from this list?
- Yoan Moncada Finest 21
- Rafael Devers Postseason
- Manny Machado Finest 20
- Patrick Wisdom Finest 21
- Jeimer Candelario Finest 21
- Spencer Torkelson FS
There are many other notable options at 3B. Anthony Rendon has been solid as has Vinny Castilla, Wade Boggs and Eddie Matthews. I think this is one of the more loaded positions.

Devers postseason first
-
If we are strictly talking 3B primary only I would say it goes as follows
- Devers Postseason
- Chipper
- Moncada
4:Brett/Boggs(they are basically the same) - Machado

Devers easily. He hits bombs. Also I agree Brett has one of the best swings in the game, I feel like I can’t strike out with him. Plus he plays better defense than Chipper.
-
It isn't Chipper anymore. The answer is this:
- 99 Finest Trea Turner
- 99 Finest Marcus Semien
- 99 POTM Corey Seager
- 99 Chipper
- 99 Wade Boggs, in an upset. I heard Wade Boggs could drink over 200 beers per flight to the next baseball town, and I believe it the way he slaps singles and doubles like a moustachiod Ichiro of yesteryear.
Honorable mention to Devers, whom won me a fantasy league with his excellent hitting, but whose cards I've yet to try.

Top priority there: Jaimer Candelario from finest. He's a switch hitter that hits tanks from both sides.
Next: Moncada, same story. Moncada might be a full blown monster, but I don't have the sample size to say so for sure.
Then Devers. He's a LHH that destroys RHHs, which is most SPs you will face
Machado and Torkelson have sub-par swings so you can wait a bit on those two.
Eddie has a pretty good swing, but reverse splits. He's good, but not absolute top tier.
Patrick Wisdom has a low key amazing swing. He has the highly coveted 'two handed backswing', made famous by Adalberto Mondesi. He's good, but not quite the monster he should be given his swing,at least in my limited data. Call him an intrigue. Fun fact: I sold an autographed Patrick Wisdom card for 30 dollars on ebay this year, but I should have held out for way more money.
I've been running Trea Turner at 3B with Devers lurking around in the dugout in case I need to smoke a RHP late game.
-
Primary- Devers
Secondary- KIKE. He’s probably been my favorite card all year. He stays in my lineup but I’ll move him around depending on who else I’m trying to squeeze in(usually between 2B and 3B).

Simien is who I use as third baseman because he has a bit better defense than Trea at third. I thought the question who was the best primary third baseman but I like where your minds at.

I didn't specify though I chose only primary 3B, but it's entirely up to you who you select. I like to see how diverse people's lineups are. I haven't used many of the program Finest cards as I wanted to drag that program out but I'm starting to integrate them and Semien is one I'm really excited about.
-
I really like the Machado right now. Was using the 99 finest Crawford there as well

i really love the Arenado card so far in online play
-
Don't forget about 97 Panda who at P5(99) is a diamond fielder and hit bombs from either side of the plate. His speed keeps him from being the best so I normally go Chipper.
-
The one no one mentions.
Signature Evan Longoria. He stayed at 3B over Chipper because he has no secondary position. I got him to P5, and around 13,000 PXP. When I had to play games on HOF, he still came through! -
Nobody likes Eddie Mathews?
