I'm happy for Dee, no sympathy from me regarding JF.

    You’re such a hardo.

Act like you’ve never made a mistake before, like hmm let’s say have a couple drinks and get behind the wheel? We all have. Mistakes happen. Most live to learn and unfortunately they didn’t

Let’s not act like drinking and driving is something everyone does. I get your point but let’s not normalize that

Definitely not normalizing it, but i'd say its something that everyone has done once in their life. Point being JF made a mistake that quite a few people do and paid the ultimate price for it, to essentially look at him as a murderer is a little over-dramatic

Just a super sad story man. I remember I pulled his diamond live series a few weeks after he died too

Says the guy who idolizes a murderer. Also yes I would feel the same thing at about your "every day drug addict" this has to do with a disease not baseball skill

You can have sympathy all you want for them. It won’t last when they kill someone you care about. I wonder if you feel bad for serial killers that had rough upbringings or had drug/alcohol problems or rapists that were raped when they were younger. Stop making excuses for other people’s heinous actions. Tell the victim’s families that they should have sympathy for the person that killed their loved one because the drunk/drug addict had issues.

Yes, I do feel sympathy for all those people and think we need to understand the core of the issues to fix them. Doesn't mean I think they should be walking around doing whatever they want and not ever being punished for things they do wrong but that throwing people away and not trying to understand why they do these things is just gonna keep the same [censored] happening over and over

When did Ray Lewis kill anyone? Do you have information that Ray Lewis himself did the stabbing. You should have come forward and testified with that information.

They threw their own lives away the moment they killed someone. They have no one to blame but themselves. It’s a shame how many people kill people kill people while drunk or on drugs and get their wrists smacked. A friend of my wife was drunk and killed an 80 year old woman. She only got 1-3 years and was out after about a year. She is and will always be a murderer. We have not spoken to her since. We don’t want to be associated with people like her.

I feel bad that I posted this now. I wasn’t trying to cause controversy or turmoil. I was just reminiscing over the loss of Fernandez and the home run that Dee Gordon hit in such a tragic time. I wish you all the best.

So if you are hanging out with your friends and one of them kills someone while you are there, that makes you a murderer? Interesting logic you’ve got going on there.

To use your own logic, if Ray Lewis was some random guy and got put in jail for being there you would probably have no problem with it but since you like him as a football player you can't accept how much of a fraud he is.

He was charged with obstruction of justice, which is a misdemeanor, which doesn’t necessarily result in jail time. Again, if you have actual evidence he did the killings, please step forward.

A mistake is forgetting to put the milk back in the refrigerator. A mistake is not getting high and killing people with your boat.

Like I said to the other guy, I hope you or noone you love ever has to deal with addiction. I also guarantee like everyone else in the world you've made stupid mistakes that could've somehow killed someone bit they didn't because of luck, not anything you did, whether it be cutting someone off in traffic or anything else.

Interesting conversation. I’ll be 47 in two months. I know when I was in my 20’s there were times when I drove home, woke up the next day and couldn’t remember how I got home. Growing up in the Midwest with a dad who always had a beer between his legs while he was driving, it was in fact “normalized”. Fortunately for me, I didn’t hurt myself or anyone else. Been sober for quite a few years now but I’m no better than JF. If I had the money he had, I would’ve been worse! I just got lucky! The whole thing was a tragedy let’s just leave it at that. Doesn’t sound like he was a bad guy. Plenty of good people in this world that have serious problems.

My sister is an alcoholic but I won’t feel sympathy for her if she kills someone while being drunk. I’ve already told her that if she gets in trouble for something to do with her drinking she better not waste her call on calling me. I’ll leave her there. Finally, I’ll feel bad for the person or person’s family that it effected not one of my friends or family that killed someone because of their addiction.

I’ve made mistakes in my life but none would resulted in someone’s death and if I did, I would face the consequences expecting no sympathy. I accept responsibility for my actions and the consequences of my actions unlike others that need to blame their addictions or someone else.

Congratulations on continuing your sobriety. I had a transplant about exactly a year ago. Been sober since Mother’s Day 2019. That was my gift to my mother.

Well from my point of view you sound like a shitty person and a shitty brother. It's hard to deal with people with addiction issues because their instincts are to push everyone away but if you don't care enough about your sister that you can't still be there for her then I think your kind of a piece of [censored].

What's really tragic is thinking about where the Marlins could've been if they hadn't lost Fernandez. To me, that kid seemed like a guy that held the team together, you know? They were all one big family, so to speak. He could've carried them to the playoffs as he developed, and the Marlins might've been more successful back then. Maybe they might not have fallen apart and some of their biggest players—Stanton, Gordon, Yelich, Realmuto—wouldn't have left the team.
