Tatis has to go

I cannot hit for my life with him. I can name 7 or 8 guys I would rather use. I tried to give him a fair amount of time but it just isnt happening. I hit well with him last year though.

A lot of people seem to be struggling with him this year, myself included. Ballplayer is still my guy, but Honus is nice too.

With Tatis having only 70-75 vision, struggling with him is expected. His timing widow for making good contacts is reduced compared to players like Wagner. I always recommend people to use players with high vision in an effort to maximize the timing window.

I had wanted Tatis to be my lead off guy, but he wasn't doing well. So I moved him into the 6 hole, still wasn't doing great but was a little better. I finally ended up moving him to the 8 hole for my second lead off guy and now he has finally woken up and hitting well for me.

When he hits them, they stay hit.
I play offline and if a player is batting under .400 offline, it's a problem. I didn't notice, but for all the HR's, he dipped under .400.
I'm the same with PS Seager and Awards Belli. HR's but under .400 batting averages. Just got Betts and he's headed the same route! -

Is that what vision does? I never actually knew for sure.

Yes the better the vision is, the better the timing window is. One of the devs confirmed it last year. When facing a pitcher with a high K/9 rating Tatis is the underdog because K/9 reduces timing windows.

That is impressive. You hit 40 HRs in just over 100 PA?! Who were you using at shortstop, assuming that is where you are using him, before Tatis?

I had no idea about the vision or the K/9 affecting timing windows. This whole time I thought higher vision just meant more check swing calls to go your way and I thought higher K/9 just helped get you the strike call more often on pitches right on the edge of the zone.

Currently sitting at .440 with 26 hrs slugging .1000 through 170 ABs on HOF and Legend. It’s not the card it’s just you.

I'm at .210 with him with 3 HRs in 60 AB's online, so we're basically the same.

Don't be a douche. It's both, of course. If a guy can't hit like a God like you do, then a card with lower vision might be part of the issue along with lesser stick skills.

The vision timing window has more to do with fouling balls off when very early or very late and nothing to do with actually putting the ball in play. Vision is def not the issue

That too. But people always seem to forget that having players with high vision help them with their timing. That’s why a player with great attributes hitting attributes like finest PATRICK WISDOM is not usable in online play. 45-50 vision is way too low because his timing window is basically non existant against high quality pitchers.

I feel like that’s why Jackie Robinson barely strikes out because of the 125 vision. I feel like he swings a tree in the box.
-
definitely worst than last year's POTM card.. still pretty good with his quick swing.. For some reasons, i am better with Tatis in HOF...
I was hitting under 200 in the event with all star level, but im crushing in RS. still think Wander Franco is the best SS in the game IMO... -

I have noticed that as well playing the game both offline and online. Players with low vision tend to strike out a lot. You can compete with players with low vision like Tatis but your timing needs to be close to perfect to make it work especially on legend difficulty facing a pitcher like DeGrom.
