Who are the top 5 starting pitchers for online play?

I have a rotation of Degrom, Ohtani, Verlander, Burnes and Ryan. Verlander has been getting hit around lately. Degrom is like all or nothing. I think he had a 14k game, allowed 3 hits but they were all homers. I kind of like Burnes, Ohtani has been a surprise for me. Anyone else I should be using? I figured Maddux and Orel would be great if I make it to the 700 level. But I stink so I hover around 500.

I'm running Verlander, Degrom, Ohtani, Arrieta and Leiter (all P5). I've been mixing in Kluber, Orel, Burnes and Ryan myself in my limited play this week. Like people have said, outlier is king on all-star. I ran into (what I'll die by) some cheating POS last night and he lit up Klumber. This guy was hitting homeruns on balls over his head and literally a foot below the zone. If it wasn't a HR, he was getting the luckiest bloop hits on very late swings with off-pci placement. I almost broke my controller of that game. Anyways, that was a very bad start with Kluber, so I'll throw him again soon and see how he does on all-star.

He does have a nice pitch mix. Unfortunately, I'm not getting to HOF anytime soon though.

Funny, the two times I've faced him in the last two days I made my opponent quit within the first two innings. I think I've hit 5 or 6 homeruns off Webb in those outings. I'm not impressed yet, unless they were just missing their spots against me.

For Allstar specifically, its probably Verlander, Degrom, Ryan, and whatever 2 outlier pitchers you prefer. Felix, Hershiser, Arrieta, Kluber, and others definitely join the mix at HOF+ though

I thought finesse pitchers were good in AS level and the outlier pitches were for higher levels?
Or is that reversed?

Verlander, Kluber, Arrieta, King Felix, 99 Burnes, Sale and Degrom I know I gave 7 options lol -- other mentions Ryan, Grove, Feller

I’m so sick of seeing deGrom, I just quit games now if he’s on the mound. Don’t even ask for friendly.

thanks for the input. I started putting together a spreadsheet comparing stats. It is interesting to see the guys who have very high Ks per 9 also do not have the best control. I also expected to see more outliers but surprisingly there are only 8 99ovr starting pitchers that I have seen with it.

If I understand it correctly, on HOF you want guys with a lot of break on their pitches so they are harder to square up hits. The higher the level the smaller the PCI which means a smaller margin of error for PCI placement. That is why guys like Orel and Maddux are good at the higher levels. Obviously with Outlier on HOF the ball with be coming in super fast but it will be straight. Guy who play on HOF can still hit it.

Wheeler and Alcantra seem to be decent so far. I got them lit up today, but they have been decent besides that. Nate Pearson not bad either

If you pitch with Webb correctly he is lethal on AS. I love his pitch mix sinker cutter and slider. Just use them right mixed in with his fastball and change and he is Golden. You actually have to pitch rather than completely rely on outlier

Webb and Ray are the highest true overall pitchers. I like Webb, but I really have not tried Ray.

It still amazes me Robbie Ray gets no love, being the best overall pitcher in the game. I think I’ve faced him once over the last 3 months…no one uses him at all

I think I read earlier you are playing on All Star or below. Honestly it doesnt matter who you use at that level. Just use whatever top pitcher you like best or feel the best with pitching. Because anyone can get smashed up pretty good by any decent hitter on All Star or below. Plus most of what happens there isnt in our control anyway.

There has to be more than eight 99 overall SP with outlier, they give it to too many. Did you count Finest?

There has to be more than eight 99 overall SP with outlier, they give it to too many. Did you count Finest?
Sorry I counted 17 with some being lower elites (Crochet and Kopech) and a gold (Syndergaard). I didnt see those guys as viable at this point in the year. Some of these other guys outlier 1 is also on their sinker not the 4 seamer (Montas, Alcantra, Cabrera). May and DeGrom have two different cards.
