The Phillies acquire Donny Sands in a separate trade with the Yankees.

Wow guys, this isn't 1935 where we have to wait a day to get the morning Newspapaer to find out who won these awards.
Discussion. The point of saying that was for discussion.
Then add something dude, don't just say the obvious.....did your statement cause a discussion?. You can begin the discussion by giving your opinion on it, do you agree with it or not for example. If you play with a PCI or only online then I would understand why you just stated the obvious and left it at that

The Yankees Designated OF Clint Frazier, INF Rougned Odor and INF Tyler Wade for assignment.
It's kind of odd. Not saying it was the wrong move, just wasn't expecting it. -
How did Brandon Crawford not win NL MVP? What a joke.

Because Bryce Harper was better and received 17 first place votes to Crawford's 4 first place votes.

Honeywell to the A’s for money

No he wasn’t. Anyone who watched what Crawford accomplished this year saw that. And Crawford was one of the reasons the Giants won the NL West. Did the Phillies win their division? Were they in the wild card? Nope. They weren’t in the postseason.

Bryce Harper
*AVG; .309
*OBP: .429
*SLG: .615
*HRS: 35
*RUNS: 101
RBIS: 84
*SB: 13
*WAR: 6.6Brandon Crawford
AVG; .298
OBP: .373
SLG: .522
HRS: 24
RUNS: 79
*RBIS: 90
SB: 11
WAR: 5.5So tell me how Crawford was better than Harper. Apparently the Baseball Writers of America didn't agree with your assessment because Crawford came in 4th place.
We are long past the days where a team making the playoffs is a major factor in the MVP award. None of the six finalists (3 in each league) made it into the postseason. If that is not a clear indication that making the playoffs does not get considered as a major factor then I don't know what would convince you.

Trea Turner and Juan Soto had better averages than Harper. So why didn’t they win it? I’d argue Turner deserved it more than Harper. Sorry but in terms of value and contributions to the team over a season Crawford should have won. Home runs aren’t everything.
-
Honestly I think Turner may have had a better shot if he had played for a single team all season. I think being traded hurt his chances. He at least would have finished higher than he did.
It seems that maybe the voters favored Bryce's HR total and maybe stats like OPS over Soto's.
One thing I was not aware of before looking some stuff up last night is that the voting was done by 30 writers, 2 each from each NL city. Crawford received his first place votes votes from both SF writers, a San Diego writer and a St Louis writer. Unfortunately, unless they choose to do so, I don't think the writers need to explain their logic.
You can see all the votes here.
https://bbwaa.com/21-nl-mvp-ballots/23 players received votes. Only 5 of them ( Harper, Soto, Tatis, Crawford and Turner) got first place votes.

I know that Correa isn't going to the Tigers like I had hoped. But with the money that he's asking for, I don't know who can afford him. His price is expensive even for the YANKEES. MLB is still recovering from the money lost last year, and he wants more money?? Doesn't seem right for a player to ask so much in the current circumstances, if you ask me.
That said, I don't know who the Tigers will have for SS. As a NC native, my fingers are crossed for Seager!
-
Javy Baez has signed a 6 year, $140M deal with the Tigers.
What?!? That’s lower than I expected. I’m sure he regrets turning down the 200M the Cubs offered last year. Lol -
Brian Kelly (Tigers) - 10 years $100M
-
White Sox sign Kendall Graveman (3 years 24M)
Pirates are close to signing Roberto Perez
Padres are in talks with Luis Garcia and Robert Suarez
and the Cubs have signed Yan Gomes (2 years 6M with a option for a 3rd year) -
The Cubs got Stroman.
Oh, and we’re locked out now. Oof -
