Hall of Fame event is horrible.

Here is the problem with outlier. Jacob degrom has outlier, but he only averaged throwing 7 pitches per game 100 plus. Now in the game you can hammer 102 for 9 innings. They should be able to hit 102 according to irl stats. But as we know SDS doesn’t use irl stats when it’s applied to pitching
Outlier is one of the worst additions to this game in its entire history.
-
I probably won't play the event because like the OP I struggle on hall of fame, but I have no problem with it being set to that difficulty. At this point in the year diehards who are skilled enough to handle higher difficulties probably make up most of the player base, so I don't see the big deal with SDS throwing them a bone and letting them enjoy a good challenge after almost every previous event was on all star. Ninety percent of the game's content is catered more to weaker players like me, so it's not the end of the world if one event is a bit too hard.

Yeah, I agree. I don’t really understand the git gud crowd that wants to play on HOF and Legend all the time. There is certainly a spot in the game for them, but they have to understand they are the overwhelming minority. I’m currently 53-12 in RS and capable of getting wins on HOF, but it’s simply just not fun to me. It’s a video game after all, I play it for fun. I have much more fun hitting dingers in a slug fest on All Star than a long 2-1 drawn out, soul draining DeGrom vs Verlander pitchers duel.
Not to mention not everyone wants to play on a computer screen. The difference between HOF and AS this year seems wider than normal.

Hall of fame is unplayable. Facing all 102 mph fastballs vs topps hitters. Not fun. May be all start it would have been nice. SDS what are you thinking?
Just practice man. Once you get it down HOF plays so much better than crackhead NBA JAM with a tennis racket all star difficulty.

But to the prior post's point, a monitor is kind of a must. Makes the game so much more enjoyable but switching from my TV (and a highly rated gaming TV at that) to a gaming monitor was a complete game changer for me and best decision I've made.
-
Oh and please get rid of Shippett. I was struggling to score 1 to 2 runs in my first 7 or 8, next game is at Shippett and I put up 8. That Park has way too much affect on offense.
-
I was actually a little nervous playing on Hall of Fame, as I play on a TV in game mode as opposed to a monitor. That being said though, I think Events have scaled down sliders than you would face in ranked seasons. All star events have always felt like 102 came in slower than in ranked. This hall of fame event feels like playing All Star in ranked to me. The only real difference that I've noticed have been the break on cutters and sliders

For real. Personally, I think online play is too easy on All Star, but too hard on HOF. But I’d prefer All Star because for the sake of entertainment I’d rather have more offensive production. I think a difficulty between AS and HOF would be perfect.

I couldn’t agree with you more sir!! I made WS 4 times in ‘17. I made it as high as 840 earlier this year. So I’m decent, not great by any means. The gameplay for RS is absolutely brutal. I can’t stand these pitching duel games.
Conversely speaking, I hated BR in years past. Played it last week for the first time and had a blast!! The missions are fun and the gameplay is waaaaaay better!

HOF batting and legend pitching in online rated no issues here git gud
Haha wait wait wait, you're dropping the git gud line. You don't even play DD. You play Online rated games with lineups of much lower cards on the 99 scale. Online rated and DD modes aren't even close to the same thing.
But seriously, you're going to tell someone to git good hitting .196 in almost 300 online games .
Aren't you just a wonderful contributor to these forums. Imagine being such a miserable [censored] that you repeatedly go after people who post about something they don't like about the game including checking their online profiles or telling them to git good, while sucking eggs at the game yourself.
Pot meet kettle

Exactly!! The “git gud” line no longer applies!! Pitching is absurd this year. If you’ve mastered pinpoint, then the hitters don’t stand a chance! If by chance you’re PCI placement is extremely good, that means you haven’t seen sunlight in months! It’s a great looking game with tons of content, but RS is still broken. I DO however enjoy BR for the first time since ‘17!

I’ve never been a excellent hitter see every year I’ve played but again I’m not using all 99s and playing HOF with lower tier cards with PCIs the size of a pea

If you were playing the event right now, you'd know there is currently only one 99 position player who is event eligible (99 Tim Anderson). There are however 21 SP and 3 RP who are event eligible that are 99 overall players.
There is a discernable advantage towards the pitchers and when you add in the jumpy PCI that goes all over the place I can see why players are a bit frustrated, especially if you don't regularly play on HOF.
It isn't simply always a git good issue.

And Brusdar hardly touches 100, but IRL hes constantly at 102. Go figure

As someone who only plays on HOF in events I swear the user input on hitting is even less important. I'll make decent contact according to the feedback but no results but get hits on garbage feedback. Very frustrating.
-
While I agree this event isn't the best, the topps now cards aren't the problem. You can get a whole lineup of cards over 115 contact vs R fairly easy. The problem is the same problem we have had all year, which are the no-hitter cards
