Ok. Aside from the fact that we all agree that the servers suck, etc. Can we all agree that besides all that stuff this year's game was actually decent?
I know, this is going to probably become a hot topic of intense debate, but I think that, putting those things aside, this year's game was actually great.
At the beginning of the year, you had a free 99 Jackie, (although hard to obtain if you were NMS) and also some quality low level headliner diamonds. I think it was kinda weird that they stopped at 40 Headliner packs, as last year was 50, so I think we were all a little disappointed by that, but still some actually good quality cards that I'm sure some people still have in their lineups today.
The bosses ramped up in their OVRs pretty quickly, quicker than last year, but the bosses were great. Yes, I know, we are all still waiting for 99 Griffey, (as of the time of this post) but other than that, I think we have checked off the boxes for most of the diamonds that everyone was waiting for.
The collections this year, I mean the Legends and Flashbacks collections, were really good. When we looked at the calendar in like late August (?) and it said that there was already a big collection coming out, we were all probably caught off guard. "How could there already be a huge collection!!" It ended up being 99 Rivera. Then you had Mookie. Now we have Kershaw. I think they are done adding new big collection rewards to the Legends and Flashbacks. The All-Star collection was awesome. I personally haven't used 99 Ohtani, but I couldn't hit well against him online.
The Live Series collection to me was just the same as it always is, so nothing special to cover there.
Team Affinity this year was great, in my opinion. All 4 TAs so far have been good, with the rewards being pretty decent. I know TA 5 is coming, so yay. Make sure you stock up on all those golds and silvers, maybe even a few bronzes, my friends.
Even the Postseason Program has been good. High level cards, that could actually be used in a RS game or something. As of right now, the World Series is tied 1-1. (Sorry if I just accidentally spoiled it for anyone who didn't know that) I think it will be a great series.
This is my opinion about the major content that has happened so far this year. I'm sure I missed a few major content updates or something, but this is just off the top of my head.
Tell me what you think

This is my first year playing, but I think the game is dope! Anytime i get over 700 and have to hit on HOF, it gets a little rough for me. Seems like the server issues become more of a thing at the higher levels? But lately I’ve been hitting a little better on hall of fame. This is easily the best sports video game I have played, and I wish I had gotten into MLB the show in previous years. I haven’t had to spend any money, and have been able to get every player I’ve wanted, other than chipper Jones. So that part of it had been great as well

There are a lot of frustrating elements of A.I. cheating playing offline only. Yesterday one of my baserunners got caught in an unassisted DP... .at SECOND BASE!!!, but I Iove this game, and feel this year was one of the best. I'm just looking at the big picture. I appreciate what SDS gave us this year.
EDIT: Found the unassisted DP at second video.
Unreal!

Aside from the falloff in content recently, I have really enjoyed this year and loved many of the programs. Team Affinity has been fantastic ad I'm stoked there will be a 5th season. Field of Dreams, The All Star Program, shark conquest, Miggy and Scherzer, all really cool programs that dropped as a sort of surprise. It was my first season and I'm definitely all in for next year.

This is the first year I haven't finished every single bit of content. Part of that has to do with my job, but it also speaks to how much they give us to do. That's a good thing
-
Content? A+
Online Head-to-Head? Very spotty. Server issues, freeze offs, "The Great Sinker Stinker", and an overall clunky unpredictable hitting interface.
Overall? I'll go with a B, which is high praise for an online sports game. -
Hitting is just so incredibly hard right now. That and the SP stamina glitch that was NEVER touched all year are really my only complaints.
-
Personally I really enjoy event games in 21’, using a variety of players.
RS this year has been highly un enjoyable -
My first year also. I thought it sucked at first but I guess I just didn’t understand the concept of “You’re not good first try.” Took me a few months to get into it but I see no problem even with online. And even in online’s worst cases I’ve seen much worse in the end of nba2k19. You had to spam through an error a thousand times to do almost everything. Overall 9/10 game just wish there was more content sometimes

Agreed. I'm a content junkie, I wish there had been 6-8 Team Affinities. More conquests, ans I'd love to see a program where you have to beat each in the division on all star or higher not for points on TA4 but it's own program where the only way to complete the reward path is to beat all 30 teams or maybe like a postseason type tourny.

The game overall is awesome. That being said...
...they ramped up to 99's way too soon. Slow the roll.
...never fixing the SP stamina for online is inexcusable.
...outliers made hitting nearly impossible for lots of people.
...Edward Cabrera.
...may we never forget or forgive the travesty that RTTS was this year. Ballplayer needs to DIE.
...franchise being practically untouched. Inexcusable.

What was wrong with RTTS? I'm new but it seemed like a fun alternative at times. I got my CAP suped up and studded out but never really felt like using him because I prefer the real players. Still, it is a fun way to earn XP, skill build etc.
-
The parallel thing is fun as heck. I look upon my 1/1 superfractor of TN Eric Haase with pride.
-
The content this year has been very good with a couple missteps. I'd give it a solid B+ or so.
-
It improved over 20 and 19 imo.

I will add the WS and BR programs were awesome this year. I think events took a step backwards.

The main thing that stuck out in my mind was the title of the post. Is this place really such a toxic dump of negativity that someone can't say anything positive about the game without worrying that it will spark controversy?
There are a few minor things I could nitpick like server issues, time limited inning programs, progression to 99s being a little too fast and of course the complete cluster expletive that was RTTS, but overall I really enjoyed the game. This is the first year I've ever played past early August so I've started to get a little burned out lately, but I definitely feel like I got my money's worth.
-
I'd honestly grade this a 2.5 out of 5. Last year was superior IMO. I think my mentality has changed as I've grown older. If I was in my 20's still, I'd totally love this game year over year but play 20 so hardcore, this year's game just feels very "bleh". Wow, they released some cards. Yay. It's just the same thing over and over. I had gone from MVP 2004 to MLBTS18 and had some fun, but 18 got boring (offline only). I jumped into DD last year and that was fun, but it's just the same stuff this year and has gotten stale. I may take like 5 years off and come back later.

True, but I just wanted to take into account that if I didn't really say that, and make it clear that I wanted it to be positive feedback only, it would have turned into a "this game sucks and I absolutely hate it" thread, and I didn't want that
-
I think this game was dope 1st year mlb Xbox guy but I will say that I feel to enjoy this game all year needs a skill level most casual gamers don't possess I've played madden my whole gaming career seems easier to be good at madden than mlb but I guess that's a good thing too lol
