Day #1 posting until the Gameplay Patch 18 is reverted.

Title says it all. This was clearly a knee [censored] reaction and wasn't tested enough. Revert the PCI sensitivity and Range if you have to we don't care. A small problem on Legend with low corner pitches has resulted in a game breaking attempt at fixing a rather small issue.
-
They're done imo. Onto 22.
-
This post though makes a GREAT POINT though about how NOT to go about fixing things.
One streamer, content creator or whatever you want to classify people as, pointing something out, should NOT make a patch happen that affects the entire mechanics of hitting across all levels.
I've been posting for a few years about the DESPERATE need for a TEST SERVER or PTR (public test realm) where stuff gets vetted before it goes into production.
[censored], I've never been allowed to push code to production in any role I've had in the 25 years I've written or fixed it, without it being tested first.
We're not talking about server load testing. We're talking about in-flight testing. Want to participate in testing? Expect nothing except a working product. Hell, I'd do it all year and without a free pack or avatar if I knew that bugs, glitches and game play changes/tweaks were being tested before rolled out.

God help us all

Why are you surprised, the game has been bad for years, they can never fix anything right
-
it feels like every fix that has been released for hitting engine (or pci, or whatever the actual name should be), ends up making it more inconsistent

Do you remember Trevor May freaking out got the fielding patch in 20?

You guys realize that 90% of the player base never even touches legend, right? Somehow I don't think it's high on their priority list to reverse an update that only impacts an extremely tiny percentage of people, especially when everyone but the diehards moved on to other games months ago anyway.
If you're still playing the Show in November, SDS isn't worried about losing you as a player. They know that in most cases they've got you hooked no matter what they do. Even if the update does cause a few people to leave the game, they know that there's thousands of casuals who don't give a [censored] how the game plays on legend ready to replace you next year.
-
Yeah I don’t play on legend but it’s annoying cause I swing at a lot of far out pitches but now instead of me whiffing I just groundout. Probably a personal problem. I mostly play on all star

Yes. That was funny though and a bit different because we were all complaining for a few weeks before his outburst. A little different situation.

Yeah but their update affected more than just legend difficulty

This wasn't an update that only impacted Legend.
The main thing I don't understand with the update is the increased sensitivity. I get expanding PCI range to the corners and we can all debate both sides on that...but I just don't get why the sensitivity also needed to be adjusted.

Would widening the timing windows help with this stuff at all? If you had a few milliseconds more of a grace period in the timing window, your pci might not shoot below that low change up in the zone quite as much.
