I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion, but is anyone else considering this? I’ve done well with him and have at P5, but those vs. RHP attributes don’t look as good this late in the cycle. Brett, Boggs, Miggy, Vlad all look tempting. Might try platooning with Brett for a while.
Chipper is great. Had him p5 for months now. He went to the bench a month ago and now he is off the main squad. Way too many options and his contact vs righty is subpar on hof and legend compared to other options. I am enjoying wade boggs a lot right now. I also took p5 wander out of my lineup and I love that card. He may end up a bench bat because I love his versatility so much. So many cards out there to play the same cad forever in my opinion. Now I just need to figure out why I'm crapp8ng the bed with the best card in the game Mickey Mantle.
I always rake with Boggs and this is the best card he’s ever had. Same for Brett.

Brett is sneaky good as is Eddie. Offline only but Brett is clearing the fence with regularity. Dont know if itd transition, but with that swing, I bet it would. Eddie has a secondary of 1B. Dont remember him having that in the past.

I always love Brett and hate boggs. So etching about boggs is just plain great this time around. He makes amazing plays in the field that chopper would let past him.

Chipper is one of my bench bats because of his inconsistency. Lastnight 10th inn he hit a 2 out walk off single.
-
I've been pondering this for a little while myself and I love that card but with so many good looking cards... it's getting to be really tempting.

I have played with all those guys. Haven't played much with Boggs. Miggy hits everything. Vlad is really good too. I have hit 40 balls in the pci with Brett and he just doesn't get a hit. Miggy gets a hit on almost everything in the pci. Only a few games for Boggs but his hits haven't fallen either. I would rank them as follows:
Miggy
Vlad
Boggs
Brett - Shame because he is my favorite player of all time. Just can't get hits to fall. -

He’s been my best pinch hitter since I got him. I don’t trust his glove, Sig Justin Turner is so underrated. Been my best hitter, love that 115 clutch rating, and his glove has been great in my month+ experience with him in my lineup.
-
I use him exclusively in my NL East team for TA4 and had to get creative to fit all my mashers in. Chipper in LF, Schmidt at 3B, Trea Turner SS, Soriano at 2B and Vlad Sr. In RF.
But I like to split my teams up either by division or league. So Brett is in my AL central team and Jose Ramirez AS is AL east etc.
-
He will likely float between LF and SS for me now that I have MVP Donaldson. I’ll take the defensive penalties for that switch hitting.
I’ve been using Brett recently for the AL Central and I am loving his card though I must say.
-
i moved him to the OF after frank thomas dropped and put vlad jr at third. im not sure if in the long run ill move him back to 3B or bench him, but for now i feel like my OF is somewhat shallow and i love both him and vlad jr to make room for them both
-
Chipper is amazing. I unlocked him pretty early and got him to P5 so he’s been on the bench for a bit now. I just can’t use a player all year long. Especially with so many options. My head also wants to use other cards once I P5 them, I can’t help it
-
I cant bat with right handers this year, only matchups that i can do are opposite hand. Specially against righty pitchers. It is very difficult to hit, averages for all my righty batters suck so i can only have a line up of switch hitters and left handers. Chipper can never leave the line up. He also cost me more than a million after completing all collection. End card for me.
-
I replaced him with Boggs because Chipper is P5 and I don’t care about having the best lineup

Yup, definitely replaceable now with options like Vlad Jr, Honus, Minnie, and others.
Minnie? Not sure that dude is worth replacing Chipper for. We are talking Minnie Minoso right?
-
What everyone forgets about Chipper’s value is that he is the best switch hitter next to Mickey Mantle.

Yeah, maybe not the best replacement. I just have a soft spot for Minnie.

I moved chipper to the bench out a while ago.

Boggs is extremely good. As are sheffield and Brett. At worst you can sit chipper for a while and bring him back if needed. Chipper is probably the best option at 3B still, but you aren't going to be at a disadvantage using some of these new guys over him
-
I understand why people are in love with Chipper but I be completely honest I don't think he's the best 3B in the game. I've used him over 500 at bats and hes good but I think Boggs might seriously be better, Even though Biggs doesn't have as much power on paper as Chipper he still hits tanks, plus Boggs plays better defense and never strikes out,
