Does SDS own Jeters rights yet. If not this thread is moot
No way to really know for Jeter or anyone else as they are new legends unless you work for or are close to someone at SDS.

I don’t think it’s going to be one of the steroids guys, Doc, Jeter or the Unit… My guess is Dave Winfield, Yaz orFisk if it’s older. Texiera, Lincecum or a very well played move in brining back Joe Mauer if it’s a newer guy.

The two most likely to be the new legend released on friday are Mike Lowell or Carlos Pena. They are both in the RTTS cutscenes
That's some very lackluster players. I know they each had a couple good seasons, but man, those guys are multiple tiers below the other revealed legends so far. I suppose the Rays and Marlins dont have a ton to choose from though.
I agree, but you can't really expect an A+ name new legend in September

Odds of new legend being Jeter and finally making Yankee fans happy?
I say 50/50 based on HOF induction today. Some say he's "too big" a name for a September release but I think he actually fits the bill.
The fact this is being revealed the day after hes inducted does line up.
Man something to ponder I am excited

I get that, but those types of players should be released earlier on the year. Putting them alongside HOF all time greats isn't the best. Release them when people might use them, without artificially jacking up their attributes to put them on par with better players. I guess it's the same argument I always make.

2007 Silver Slugger Carlos Pena for the Rays

There will always be people complain. If you release those types of players early in the year everyone will gripe that its taking too long to release the big names, and if you release the big names too early than every card after it is worthless. Its a no-win situation and I've given up on trying to convince people that every card isn't a L

I would love Jeter. But think about it, the card would not be that good lol. High contact, decent power, decent speed, they'd probably give him high fielding attributes. But honestly if you stop to think about it, a Jeter card would not be that good. Though I am a fan and would still love it and probably use it lol.

@SaveFarris_PSN AKA "The Showstorian", what are some of the Big name new legends to be released later in August/September in past years?
First ones that come to mind are Honus and Walker.

Honus and Walker were both July lol

Honus released 7/25/19.
Walker released 6/25/20.Next best comp would be Yogi on 6/27/18.
-
One more comp: Dennis Martinez on 7/24/20.
-
i got a feeling its a 90s legend. Maybe Viola for the Twins?

Last year it was Thome and Henke I believe.

And Salmon. But I'm still upset they dropped Buehrle, one of my faves.

We have to consider that this legend would be a 99 as that is what they all have been so far and we can eliminate a player from the first 11.
We also have to look at players that completed no hitters and cycles due to Milestones.

They announced it to be a Milestone series card?

I get that Jeter was a great player in real life but he will end up being a pretty big disappointment in the game. At best his attributes will be Jackie or Honus without the speed and a bit lower defense. I love Jackie and Honus but it is the speed that make the cards. What made Jeter great doesnt necessarily translate well into the game. Its similar to people wanting Manny Ramirez. Amazing hitter but he will have maybe 50 defense and would be tough to use in the game. If they bring the DH to the game Manny will be a monster but without DH he is a bench bat or a fun BR card. I think the next few cards that will play well in the game would be Dimaggio and Frank Robinson. Of course if they get the rights to Negro League players the sky is the limit.

If they had Jeter and waited until September 10th to drop him that would be a dumb move. You market Jeter a bit even if he is not the cover player. Jeter would likely have sold a few more copies. Andres Galaraga, Tim Lincecum, Barry Zito, Mark Mulder, Mark Grace, Tim Raines are the types of impact names I would expect.

Edmonds is a 98, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s at least one or two 97’s.
