Is Ohtani worth it?

I have been working towards finishing the collection for him but the fact that he can only pitch with no secondary positions makes me wonder if it is worth it just looking for some input from anyone that’s used him.

Unfortunately the card is just not that good to be locked behind all those stubs. Mo and Mookie def were worth it

Even on legend difficulty he’s pretty hittable. Kinda sucks that you need outlier or a sinker to be useable against good players

I'm a collector. He's great and worth it to me to fulfill my OCD. Plus he can hit so if you play him you essentially have a DH. But I was lucky and got a few rare and mid pulls and didn't have to spend many stubs. I don't understand only collecting the players that will dominate online. But that's just me. If I could avoid online play I would.

I dont think he's useable. I get rocked with him when I throw him and typically do very well at the plate when my opponent throws him. I think if his cutter had a little more velo and didnt just float through the zone his card would be much more useable.

I suck online and I hit him better than DeGrom. For whatever that's worth.

He’s a fun card to mess around with, you get some other fun players along the way, and he’ll be a voucher when the next big collection drops. I think he’s worth it for all of that.

I think he is , I had problems pitching with him in the beginning but once you learn his pitches he's nasty and he hits nukes.

I like him. He was the fastest card I got to parallel 5 too. Pitching and hitting. It's crazy. I only had like 24 homeruns with him when I hit P5 from all the points from complete games and 20+ strike outs per game. LOL

Funnest part of owning him is watching how fast the XP counted up!

Heck yes!
All fielders I have played with (offline only) I need a minimum of 100 homeruns to get to P5. Except Jackie, he was a double/triples machine for me so I only had about half that.

- Does he have outlier and a sub 88 changeup and also max break on his secondaries.
- Do you see others using him online
The answer is no, no, no for ohtani. If this game were realistic he would be the most sought after card in the game, but in its current state he's a bag of garbage behind a huge pay wall that they can't seem to lower. Vlad Jr is already back up to 230k so is peralta. So around 1 million stubs for a player most will hit with ease after 700

Yeah, but stubs are easy to mine in this game. I'm NMS and I don't flip cards and I have almost every card, except most of the BR and WS recent rewards. I do have Leiter and Story however. Just saying, get him for the fun of it!

I mainly play offline but I struggle to hit with him. It is mostly bad luck cause he hits the ball hard alot for outs. I crushed with his live series card and had that to P4 before I got his 99. Just gonna keep using him and hope my luck turns around.

I don't play online much, but in my first start with him against the cpu I got a perfect game with 20 strikeouts. That may not sound like much to all the really good players on here, but I suck bad enough that even on rookie perfect games are extremely rare. His hitting alone justifies keeping him in my rotation for the rest of the game cycle. My opinion is apparently in the minority, but I think he's totally worth it.

He is only worth it for the collection voucher.

Yes. He leveled up to V so fast for me. By far the fastest
