What do you want in RTTS 20
-
So I noticed that in the description for RTTS for 20 that it was going to be more RPGish what do you think this means and what would you like to see out of it?
I have one hope for it. I love the mini games they are fun and help get your player upgraded however they do not happen nearly enough. Like I'd like it to be somewhat similar to 2K where you can walk to the gym and pick which work out you want to do. That work out upgrades certain attributes like if you bench press it would increase your power, and arm strength, then you could go to long toss and it has you play catch with a CPU player but you have to do inputs like moving the RS into the zone and that increases your ACC, or you could take Fly balls and throw to bases which would increase Fielding and ACC. However to make it so you can't just spam the mini games and get a 99 over all player out the gate you get a certain amount of energy each day and each workout costs a different amount of energy to complete. And to further prevent spamming of workouts that energy is static it doesn't go up if you don't use it all (no roll over energy from day to day) and maybe even have it so that you can have an option to have a full practice before each game like in IRL.
This would be optional but have some incentive to do. Like if you get Gold in say hitting you get a bonus for that days game in Contact and Power or if you did fielding you get a bonus to fielding and Arm ACC.
What are your thoughts and what would you like to see in RTTS in 20. I love the game mode but it feels the same every year I want them to mix it up so it is more realistic in a way like being able to hit the gym or play catch. And maybe they make it so you can challenge other players for extra XP to certain attributes. Anyone have thought?

@Victor_SDS Can this thread be moved to the RTTS category? The other RTTS players will add some more good ideas here.
Thanks -
Usable RTTS players in DD.

Many ideas, several that can be streamlined in RTTS, Franchise and M2O (and season mode if it returns, and it should) if they all run from the same platform:
-
Promotion/demotion based on performance and other RTTS universe variables, not attributes. If I’m batting below Mendoza for a couple of years straight I shouldn’t expect a spot in the starting lineup or even in the Majors the following year just because my attributes are higher than the AAA guy (bear in mind I have limited knowledge of roster movement rules).
-
IL return through rehab assignments.
-
Make a big thing of spring training and a spring training invitation, especially for a AA and AAA player.
-
More off-field meaningful interactions:
extend the use of relationships and personality. These have a great platform to build from. Make the social media tweets more useful and interesting (and fix up the bugs in the management of them).
Interactions with team Manager, GM and agent should be user-controlled (there used to be an option to speak to your team manager) with the occasional auto one.
When you have a really bad game or a really good game (eg player of the game good) have a media interaction. This can impact upon relationship with GM/Franchise team mates, oppo players and fans.
Other off-field interactions also.
5 Awarding of attribute points to continue the way it is, but after a game ask the player if they would like to allocate the points to the default attributes (current method) or choose themselves to which attributes they are assigned (old method). This meets the needs of those who want to create a god and those who prefer it to be more real.
More to come...

Reintroduce inside the show back into RTTS.
-
Include in all season-based modes a daily text summary that includes milestones and other highlights from the day’s games, something that was previously in Franchise (on a smaller scale) but was removed in 18 for no apparent reason.
-
Reintroduce to all season-based modes the newspaper stories that were in the game up to 10 or 11 The Show and were removed.
-
-
-
Again, all season-based modes, updates (text only is fine) from around the leagues within the pause menu, or even in-game. Such as no hitters in progress, career or season milestones, hit for cycles etc. To do this, other games happening on the same day would need to be simmed throughout the game in progress rather than at the beginning.
-
Give access to sliders for trade frequency, injury frequency etc.
-
-
I love how 2k does its MyCareer especially the extras of walking around the town and such. Hope they don’t automatically make you get drafted in the later rounds. You get drafted on performance

This too. There has to be something added to make the drafting process more than just always late in the rounds.
-
Make spring training more interesting in RTTS and across all season-based modes. It’s an opportunity to build relationships and rivalries, learn more about other teams and generally build up excitement for the upcoming season.

Obviously a youngster. In the older versions of the game they had between game a newspaper that showed what happened the previous game.

What I would like in the game is to have like a 2K feel in a way where it’s almost like a full control. And also it would be cool like if you won the World Series or a batting title or a gold glove, have the announcers talk about it the next season. Also if you win the World Series the following year they should have a cut scene on the first home game of whoever won receiving the World Series rings and the banner raising. Also I feel like the should add a post game interview after every game or everytime you get an award or something and interact in a way. Another idea would be to have a spot to where you can add tattoos, because it is a big part of the world today, and maybe add like just more overall options with everything. Maybe add my last name finally too ha! FYI just Incase they see this it’s Buschang (boo-Shang) just my opinions but I would this to happen! I have gotten the show ever since the first one came out!
-
There is too much stuff now. I just had a player that there was 4 cut scenes between appearances. The coach asked if I wanted to work on my game, then got the cap/attribute increase. then personality thing with a team mate. then lastly the coach coming in to "check on me" giving me 2x on some attributes. We certainly don't need more junk added to the game. I want to PLAY BASEBALL.

I would like to see a revamp to contracts. Like as of right now, there is really no reason to go for the big bucks in the game. An idea is maybe for every $1,000 you get in your contract, you get 100 stubs, in order to prevent people from simulaying RTTS to get stubs, you must play at least 81 games, or a way to use your contract money in game would be easier.
-
@hondarrbaby a great idea, the contract values have been moot for years. Also using the $ to buy stuff in the RTTS world would work too, like equipment and perhaps (not really my style but some might dig it) stuff to decorate your locker or something.
-
I like @hondarrbaby his idea is great. And adding NCAA and maybe EVEN..2 high school games or a High School state tournament, than you can choose if you get drafted outta' high school or go to College. And SINGLE A...WHERE IS SINGLE A EVERYONE!?!? I have a local Single A team. Idk why they don't add that. It would make the grind so much more fun. Idk why they just don't do that.

Because you can't just "do it", the likenesses cost $

I like this idea, but rather than give us stubs, I hope they keep the benefits of higher contracts related to your RTTS character. This could help build the RPG aspect of RTTS. For example, maybe a bigger contract = increase in stamina and durability (because more money means your character can buy a comfy bed and healthier food, etc.). On the flip side, making toooo much money would leave your team without much payroll flexibility, so you'd need to figure out the right balance for your character and your team. I think the player personality thing was kind of interesting, but it didn't really go anywhere. I'd like to see them deepen the RPG aspect on the whole.
-
I'd say this list is now geared towards 2021 and next gen. But who knows. Maybe we'll be surprised.
-
Online RTTS - I want to play a career with a friend. We work out together, compete against each other if we share the same position. Watch each others draft stock raise and fall. Then we can either be drafted to the same team or different teams. From there we just play our careers as your normally would.
-
I want to see news updates. It can be a MLB website, newspaper or whatever else. I want to see/read about big game moments, trades and trade rumors, maybe some player made a comment and it's "headline news" really anything. Injiries etc etc
-
I want to see a personality meter. Interviews, social media interactions, fan interactions etc all effect how our player is viewed. This in turn effects our market value. How teammates view us and how fans view us. Maybe have a cut scene were our character is out to lunch. A fan wants a selfie. Give us options. And there would be pros and cons for all the different personality types.
-
I get baseball is a long season. Asking for a story mode is pretty much impossible. But how about a mini story that follows your career through the minors? Or at the very least do something with the farm system. It's so boring. It almost ruins the mode. At least for me. Real stadiums for starters (or this is were create a stadium would be handy) Make the minors feel like the minors. Why not give us a different broadcast team? NBA not only give you different teams for different NBA games. But their smaller leagues even have broadcast teams just for those leagues.
-
Signing an agent, have off the field actions, signing with real life companies. I love the fact we can buy gloves, cleats etc for our players. Go a step better. How about certain items can only be unlocked by reaching different tiers with different companies. And again this is something your personality meter effects. Or something our agent effects.
-
I agree with the comment above. Our play should effect our where we end up on the roster. I also want to see more work put into spring training. I skip right through it. It just doesn't really seem to effect anything really. Also... what about adding the Arizona fall league? Why is this not already in the game?
-
A sandlot mode would be fun. Maybe not a big city to run around in like NBA. Not sure how that would work. But taking our players into a sandlot game would be fun. Even if it's only 3vs3 or 4v4 or 5v5. The rest of the team would be AI controlled.
-
I also like the idea of having our RTTS guy being portable into DD. Even though I'm not a DD player much myself. It would be fun watching our overall ratings and our DD card grow as we progress in RTTS.
I hate how NBA2k almost forces you to buy VC to upgrade. But at least that mode offers a lot of great things with it. I want to see The Show go in that direction. But frankly... I feel like it's going more of the way EA is with it's Madden series. RTTS and Franchise are after thoughts. DD gets all the hype, the updates etc. Hopefully that changes this year.

I would love for it to be more RPGish. You want want the player to feel the way the pros do. I would love more media questions, decision making, if you win and MVP in the game will acknowledge Especially multipleMVPs. Have a special area that is like a home where you can keep you annual awards. Almost like NCAA football back in the day. Put more then a twitter feed. Add news outlets with pictures and up to date stories of your team and achievements Throughout the year and your career. Add more storylines, its a long season and can be a very long career. I also feel like you should be able to get a hold of your agent. Not just him giving you a call once or twice a year to chek up. People want to feel like they are in the game living the MLB experience.
