    RE: Draft glitch

If you want random you could always put all the teams names on paper, cut them up,put in hat and draw one out. There's probably even an app that would do the same thing.

RE: New 1st-Ever Event in RTTS

@CapnBob78 said in New 1st-Ever Event in RTTS:

It wasn’t as rare pre 18 when you were able to buy the attribute points with stubs to make your player better way quicker ... I did it because I had the stubs and it was available, though I am glad they removed that from the game

I sort of enjoy the grind myself but there certainly are people who would like to be 99OVR out of the gate, playing only on their favorite team and only the position they choose.
It's the "sim" vs" arcade" debate which I doubt will ever end.

    RE: Loading saved RTTS

From Reddit " someone on OS showed me a fix. Loading up your '19 sliders does something to the save file. So delete your '20 RTTS save file and then load your carryover file again from '19. Just gonna have to make a new slider set. Anyway, this worked for me. If you didnt load '19 sliders in your '20 RTTS, then I dont know a fix. Everyone I know of who were having this problem had loaded their '19 sliders."

RE: Bro Challenges game prevents from being completed

My SPs challenge was to not give up more than 5 hits in a game.So I just hit every batter until I got thrown out.Challenge won!Haha!

    Quiet bunch here

Supposedly RTTS players are a large percentage of players yet no posts.Same thing on OS-the RTTS thread frequently disappears off the front page.Unlike the franchise players I guess we are all introverts 🙂
    Merry Xmas and all that!

RE: What do you want in RTTS 20

@Red_Ted_is_back said in What do you want in RTTS 20:

    1. Reintroduce inside the show back into RTTS.

    2. Include in all season-based modes a daily text summary that includes milestones and other highlights from the day’s games, something that was previously in Franchise (on a smaller scale) but was removed in 18 for no apparent reason.

    3. Reintroduce to all season-based modes the newspaper stories that were in the game up to 10 or 11 The Show and were removed.

    What's a newspaper? 🙂

RE: Player relationships & Dynamic challenges, SDS please understand this for MLB The Show '20

I don't particularly like the direction RTTS is taking either but there must be some segment of the population that likes this stuff. Is there some other game's career mode that MLB The Show is trying to copy ?

This might be interesting if you have pitcher(s) in RTTS

In 20 "Developing New Pitches is Easier Than Ever
Whether it is learning a new pitch to add to your arsenal or changing that arsenal by replacing one pitch with another, Pitchers will now find ample opportunity to develop their unique tools of attack."

    RE: Starting Pitcher

You are not alone!I've got 3 SP's going along with one CP-who started out as SP but got switched and since we won WS in first year I'm leaving him be.
My question about changing pitches is do you retain the levels you have built the pitch up to with the new pitch?
Not me but there are people who think they get called up too quickly-they would rather be in minors for years.Different strokes I guess.

    RE: Gameplay RTTS

As I remember you had to be in the majors to add a pitch. One year you had to be a starter to add a pitch-did they patch that? Can't remember. This may or may not be true of 21.

    RE: RTTS retirement

One of my players is either 36 or 38.For the past couple of seasons my agent ask if this is my final year.So I think once you say you want to keep on playing you have to wait for next year. Also this 20-perhaps they forgot about it in 21.

because with covid restrictions this is what they were able to do, im sure they said it wasnt ready and they needed alot more time, but they werent allowed to release it any later then they did(most likely MLBs doing) and they should have.

I will be upfront-I have no idea how a video game is put together. But why would people have to be face to face in the same room to do whatever work is necessary?Or are you refering to some other obstacle?

In a video a couple years ago, they showed how they were incorporating statcast data into the game, the control panel he was using was over 10 ft long probably weighs several tons, even if you could move some of the equipment(most probably not) i seriously doubt residential wiring would be compatible.
Which would severely limit what they would be able to work on at home, and the quality of it,considering there highly specialized equipment is worlds above what consumer stuff could do.

    Now that's good info.
Ironically I have a 2 way player in 20.SP and DH with a day off before he pitches.Every once in a whille he plays left field.Started Richard(Head) in 14.Was able to pretty much max him out before they started capping players.Of my four players he's the only 2 way-and the game made the change-not me.

    RE: Pitching meter gone

From reading another thread it appears all the help is available on Twitch and you are a boomer loser if you don't know that.
    Personally I think I'm sticking with 20.

    RE: you play legend

I've been playing on All Star plus for years now.I 'm running 4 pitchers of various ages. This year I decided to see where dynamic difficulty lead.
I ended up going back and forth between legend and legend +.I thought it would be a lot harder than it is.Strikeouts are a lot harder to come by and the general ERAs are in the mid 3's instead of mid 2's.I also get shellacked more often.
It also seemed like I got smacked around more as soon as I went up a level then things would go back to normal.Like the game was testing my stick to it ness.
Last year 2 of my 4 pitchers won the Cy Young-definitely not happening this year.On the other hand all 4 teams made the playoffs.
BTW not some young gamer here with mad stick skills or anything.

@ Red Ted As far as number 3 I'm assuming Yoshiken25 is referring to the look the batter sometimes gives the umpire when he swings and misses on strike 3.It's as if the batter is complaining he got a ball called for a strike. He could still possibly give that look if an earlier strike was called badly because then he would be in swinging mode. But I've seen it when the batter swung at all three strikes.
I suppose the batter could still be angry at a previous at bat but that would be stretching things.
    Hopefully I understood your question.If not-never mind.
For number 8-probably not this year but AI keeps improving.Audiobooks are know being read by AI(have no idea what the quality is like).

With #8 would be weird to have an AI voice for a name in the commentary in a sentence spoken by Matty V. And legally they probably wouldn’t get away with generating an AI voice that sounds like Matt so it sounds good. So the only option there would be to AI the whole play by play commentary.

Would you be heartbroken if Matty V et al went away?Personally I'd rather see SDS put the money into software that can produce commentary that is non repetitive and appropriate.Of course you shouldn't be able to tell it's AI.
