Any Tigers fans Here With Thoughts on the Situation?

He used an over the top stereotypical Asian voice on the air. Not sure what you would expect.
It wasn't the worst thing ever said, but you just can't do that on tge air in this day and age. As a broadcaster you have to know that.

He’s not losing his job, organization took corrective action, he learned and will be back, and Shohei keeps hitting bombs. Seems all good to me.

It was an Elmer Fudd imitation that was taken out of context. That’s what it sounded like to me. It obviously wasn’t a slur, nor was it intended to be. Shohei and Maddon said that they weren’t offended, regardless of the intention. Morris’ apology was very sincere.
His suspension should be undone.

My concern is Bally Sport’s term to describe the suspension length. What do they mean by “indefinitely”? Indefinitely can either mean an unspecified period of time or forever.

When I heard the Morris clip the first thing that came to mind was Elmer Fudd. But hey, twitter wants to make mountains out of a mole hill these days.
That’s why I never got a Twitter account. It’s too much of a toxic cesspool to bother
You’re not wrong. The toilet bowl of society.

Shohei and Maddon said that they weren’t offended, .Here's the thing about that, Shohei is one of the classiest, most professional of athletes in the world, whether it bothered him or not this is the response he'll give to avoid making it into something bigger distracting from the game. You can't use that to let Morris off the hook. He takes his suspension and tips his cap to Shohei for showing professional courtesy even after showing none himself, everyone moves on.
-
You gotta be kidding me?! They suspended Morris for that?!!! Unbelievable!!

It absolutely was an Asian voice joke. We did the voice as kids all the time. It's a mocking imitation of an Asian trying to speak English. A passing resemblance to Elmer Fudd is a coincidence.

My point is that he didn’t intend for it to be anti-Asian. You can see that in his apology, there was no bad intent at all

On another note, forget what I said about the Tigers bullpen.

I love our offense explosion but it’s a close game, who messed up this time?

Is it as bad as the Jays Bullpen. As soon as Charlie Yanktoyo walks out to the mound in the sixth, if the game is not a blowout I’m scared to watch the last three innings.

Joe Jimenez, the human gas can.

He needs to go. We need pitchers who don’t blow leads

These kids today have no clue who Elmer Fudd is. However, Jack Morris grew up with Elmer Fudd and so did I. That was the first thing that came to my mind. Not making fun of a Japanese accent. God people are sensitive jeez!

Agree. I’m not as old as y’all, but I did grow up watching Looney Tunes on those big DVD sets. Plenty of toons starring Elmer Fudd were on there, including the famous “Duck season, rabbit season” one. “It’s duck season, I demand that you shoot me now!”

I mean, we would pull our eyes slanted and say vewy vewy sowey with that exact same accent. I'm not young, I know who Elmer Fudd is, a passing resemblance to Elmer Fudd doesn't change what it is.
Not offended by the way.

I dealt with this basically my entire childhood and young adulthood.

Having to watch what you say basically means those thoughts are at the top of your mind. If you have to be careful of what you say, you’re already prejudiced. Plus Morris has been sh**** to female reporters in the past too. He’ll come back and it will be all over soon, so no need to panic. Of course, with him suspended where will get our old geezers’ rambling nonsense from, baseball doesn’t have enough as is
