yeah jeter is about money and would cost a ton for them to get. BTW he would suck in this game. He was a contact hitter and a poor defender with not much speed. He wouldn't be good.
Arguably one of the greatest, and most clutch hitters of all time wouldn't be good in this game? They dish out 99's like hot cakes, if they had a Sig Jeter it would be a top 3 SS in this game. 120's contact, 90's power, 80/90's fielding and probably low to mid 80's speed.
Also, he won 5 GG's and stole 400 bases in his career....way to prove to everyone you know absolutely nothing about baseball.
He is Alan Trammell... He would only make fan boy lineups and would not have 90s power or 90s defense. Lmao, 260 homeruns in 20 years... Also, didn't steal 400 bases in his career...way to prove to everyone you know absolutely nothing about baseball.

You're right but that is the best comparison to his offensive skill set.

Are we really using gold gloves as a measure of how good a player is defensively. Rafael Palmeiro won a gold glove one year when he only played 28 games at first base.

Id be grateful fans still wanna play as me in a video game post-retirement. Nevermind the exposure to younger fans who might not be familiar with them. I hated playing basketball games in the 90s and neverrr getting to play as jordan. I wanna play as john rocker, randy johnson, clemens, pettite, daryl strawberry, jeter, garciaparra, -ayrod 
, manny ramirez, albert belle…. Maybe ive just played too much nba2k myteam where they have 98% of iconic players (charles barkley and reggie miller need to quit acting bougy with their wendy’s and tnt paychecks 
) .. DO IT FOR THE FANS, DO IT FOR THE GAME! Rant over.I wonder if some guys have contracts with other game developers or companies that prevent them from being in the game. Joe Montana was not in Madden for year because he had exclusive rights with another game developer even though that developer stopped making football games. Contract expires and boom he ends up in last years Madden. I have also noticed they have steered clear of guys who have previously been in trouble with the law or anyone remotely associated wiSteroidsods. Which is alot of guys on your list.

Anyone remotely associated with steroids... like Piazza, Giambi, Gagne, Ortiz and probably a ton more. Point is these guys are not blocked from the game because of steroid use, it is because they don't have the rights or can't get the rights to said player.

The way I see it, whether you think a high diamond Jeter deserves it or not, he will definitely have some juiced attributes when it comes to power, fielding, and speed. SDS would not go through the troubles of acquiring Jeter’s rights to put into the game just to give his card lackluster attributes, especially with how popular a player he is. No way his card would have common defense or offensive attributes similar to Alan Trammell like some of you are claiming.

Now I remember Giambi but had to look up Gagne, Piazza and Ortiz so thanks for the links. Funny part is Ortiz and Arod came out of the same report but I feel most people associated Arod with steriods and not Ortiz. Which is kind of a double standard. But Im pretty sure guys like Jose Canseco and Sammy Sosa would give up their rights for 1000 bucks each. This is SDS picking and choosing who they put in their game for whatever reasons and less a matter of money. Im also wondering if the players association or MLB have something where they have to approve who is in the game. They would really be the only ones worried about who would get put into the game. A majority of gamers would love to use guys like McGwire, Bonds, Arod, Clemens, Dwight Gooden and Daryl Strawberry. Which would make SDS more money and probably not cost them a ton.

All those facts are super awesome but Tatis still has elite defence in this game and Is StAtIsCalLy ONe Of ThE WoRSt DeFenSiV blahhhhhh blahhh blahhh. Jeter will be a 99 overall god when he is in this game. You can bring up all the stats you want, SDS does what they want. I’ll put up actual money he never gets defence under 80 and power below 70, if you want to bet against that go ahead. I’ll be playing till he’s released one day.

They would have to juice it to make it that good. No way a realistic jeter has 80's power as a sig card. His defense was never 80's level either. He should have moved to second when alex came to town because he was the better ss. His speed will be in the low to mid 80's which will be good. His contact of course will be 115 to 125. A realistic jeter would be

Sorry dude, if they are giving Sig Justin Turner 88/92 power…..Jeter is getting in that ballpark. Especially considering Jeter was a far better XB hitter than Turner. I’ll agree with defense being in the high 70’s maybe low 80’s.

Nah,, Turner has more consistent 25+ homers to get low mid 80's power. I think a silver slugger jeter card would be his best or i guess maybe an all star card from 99 would be the only cards that would be usable by people that aren't super fans. I think the 99 year would be a card that could dip into the 90's for power with obvious 120 + contact. A sig card would really have to be juiced for name value to be usable. I think it would be around what biggio's card is with worse defense and speed and not near the versatility.

The biggest problem is coaches and manager voting accounts for 60-70% of the formula that determines the GG winners. It should be solely decided on defensive stats. I know that is a crazy thought, why would the best defensive player at said position win a GG?

I guess they didn't want to give it to Omar every year back then and had to give him something considering he would never win MVP because he just wasn't that type of player. Technically i guess omar was probably with the giants by the time jeter was winning the gg's. Palmero winning in that few games and jeter winning any was the donwfall of that award for me.
