Metrics only really tell them how many people are playing and finishing things, not how much they enjoy them. Obviously people do the moments as it's the only way to aquire tge cards, but that doesn't mean it's enjoyable.
People that don't finish things don't finish them by and large because they don't enjoy them. And even if they do finish them, they're going to do it a much slower pace because they don't like accomplishing the tasks.
SDS can track that. And they do. And use that statistical data accordingly.

I see an error in that data though. Whenever topps now moments or player programs or even showdowns (before I realized you can max out the XP path in a few weeks with or without doing it) I would do this stuff as soon as it came out because I knew it would be a wall to something I would want in the future whether that be XP or players needed for collections. But that doesn't mean I had fun that just means I did it fast to get it over with. The eat your all your vegetables before you get dessert little Timmy theory.

So you don't do that stuff as soon as it comes out now because you don't enjoy it as much.
Thus proving my point.
Thanks!

We really won't have a good measure of how much people are enjoying themselves until next year's version comes out. If sales are pretty close to the same or greater than they were this year, it will send a pretty powerful message that despite the negativity on this board the vast majority of the player base is happy. If there's a noticeable drop, then we can probably expect major changes to be made.
As far as the clemente program, I consider the need to do showdown or online play a minor inconvenience that doesn't significantly detract from my overall enjoyment. I may not personally enjoy those parts of the game, but I'm sure many players do and I realize that it's not all about me. It makes perfect sense that programs would be structured in a way that encourages players to try as many different modes as possible. People who expect content to be tailored to their own narrow preferences were never being realistic.

Exactly! there's no way for them to know if I'm "enjoying" the game. I'm doing those stupid Topps now moments bc i need them for the player of month program. If not, they could take a long walk off a short cliff. The only moments I ever do is because I have to. And the only reason they would see that I maybe "enjoy" is because this is the only game I play and the only reason I have a PS4, so it's not like i'm enjoying so much that im not playing other games.

If you reread my post I said I do this stuff as soon as it comes out to get it out of the way. Maybe I'm weird but I always do the less enjoyable stuff first. I'd rather (pitch 6 innings without given up a hit on all star) first than (hit home run on rookie) because I know the annoying stuff will be more time consuming. But back to your original point the analytics will show I spent more time and went after the things we would consider less fun first. Thus leaving flawed data.
I do understand that as an internet based community that most of us would rather just be sarcastic and try to be right rather than try to work together to give a suggestion to the SDS gods that we hope look at this so I understand your post.

I wish the game wasn’t decided by HR all the time.
I do honestly still think a perfect swing should result in at least a single. It’s a video game.

Very good post. I agree with what your saying. But, I think that with offering the game to new platforms and being the only baseball game produced by a major studio those numbers can lead to flawed numbers in sales. Dozens if not hundreds of people post on here they are never going to buy this game again every year and they still do because they love baseball and 60 dollars really isn't that much money to most people.

I'll start by saying that hopefully there's some positive ideas in this and that someone that works with SDS accidentally stumbles across this on their lunch break. But I'm an offline player, I don't mind grinding and I probably enjoy collecting players as much as anything else on the game. I see people complaining on this thread almost every time there's a content release.
So it leads me to believe that people overall aren't having as much fun playing this game as they had hoped to. I like most, dislike showdown and moments but still give them a try mostly to gain the XP that they are offering. I haven't had a moment this year yet that I haven't been able to beat but countless that have left me annoyed and wanting to turn off my game. The Clemente program seems to be a huge topic of conversation for offline players because you either have to suffer through the showdown or play online to complete it.
I will choose to play online because 5 wins in an event is a couple hours of play and it's much less frustrating than a showdown and I'm not horrible at the game so I will hold my own online. But online definitely has it's warts and I feel for the guys who just want to play online for a few hours a night and move on.
The lagging and overpowered fastballs make it more annoying than it should be. And before the "GET GOOD" or the "THAT'S BASEBALL" crowds come and state the obvious, I agree with you but at the same time it's a video game we're not actually on a baseball field. But I want to see some ideas where we as a community think that SDS can improve on a video game that we are going to buy and play a lot regardless of how well they make it.
I fixed ur post
You must be a ton of fun at parties. Appreciate the feedback though pal.
I'm the guy that stays hours after to help clean up

I’m gonna need some paragraphs to read that.

Ah man this is truly devastating. When I was typing out the original post I was thinking to myself how I really hoped you would read it. But now I’m just left here with unfathomable sadness.
But I’ve learned my lesson. The next time I dare post on this forum I’ll make sure to first submit my post to a college English professor to make sure it’s up to standard.

Let me guess you had your book reports done a week early in school unlike the rest of us who waited till midnight to finish them up?
