My question is how many people that want Jeter would use Paul Molitor? That is basically what a Jeter card would be.
cringe take
How so? Because you're a fanboy and you're obviously blindly subjective because he's your favorite player, this is a cringy take? Jeter in this game would EXACTLY be like Paul Molitor so it's actually a great take. High contact, decent power, mediocre fielding. You're not only naive, but hilariously biased too.
Judge is my favorite player in case ur wondering
Doesn't change a thing in my argument, but nice try Kieran.
I’m not biased lol Jeter has five rings Molitor doesn’t, what if it’s a juiced postseason card
Juiced in what way? He was the exact same player in the Post Season and don't use the "he has x rings" argument. There are a lot of mediocre players in sports with multiple rings.
To name a few... Will Purdue (4 rings, NBA), Charlie Silvera (6 rings, MLB), Luis Sojo (4 rings, MLB), Jim Loscutoff (7 rings, NBA). Funny thing actually if you look up mediocre players with multiple rings a bunch of them are Yankees. lol -
Jeter was an above average player that played for one team for 20 seasons. What if he would have been selected just 1 pick earlier and played 20 years for the Reds? What would your argument be if he had 0 rings?

Jeter's career postseason slash numbers are .308/.374/.465
There's a 2021 middle infielder putting up similar numbers: .309/.369/.463
That player is:
A) Marcus Semien
B) Fernando Tatis Jr.
C) Bryan Reynolds
D) Jean SeguraWanna take a guess?

Rings in baseball are meaningless when measuring a player’s impact; this ain’t basketball, and to a lesser degree football (QB) or hockey (goalie).
-
Molitor got a ring in ‘93, year of the “touch ‘em all, Joe!”

Its Jean Segura.

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner.
Jean Segura is currently rated as an 83 Gold. Which is what Jeter's amalgamated Postseason card would look like ... with worse defense.
Sorry Yankee-stans, but He. Just. Wasn't. That. Great.

Relax. He’ll get his 89 prime card next year.

Actually this is pretty accurate take. Both are solid hitters with little pop. Good defense, average arm and a little bit of speed on the bases but not fast. Most people think of Jeter as this God like player but he was just the face of the franchise for a big market team that was great for a decade. He also got a ton of exposure
because they were making deep playoff runs every year. When you put Jeter into MLB the Show, his game probably translates close to Paul Molitor's. But people would love Jeter just for the name, people outside of the Midwest probably don't even really know Paul Molitor. -

Anthony Rizzo is an 80 gold but has a 96 flashback lol
-
Meaning that Rizzo isn't currently at his peak.
Even when Jeter was at his peak, he was Jean Segura. With worse defense.
Stats. Don't. Lie.
