I feel your pain man. It’s unbelievable how the Cubs built their franchise from the ground up to championship level with that young core that should have been a dynasty and it ends like this. I never understood why they treated their star players like complete dog waste dangling them on the trade block for years on end for no apparent reason given they were all still young and controllable at the time. I feel like Kris Bryant is going to absolutely flourish now he is out of that toxic losing culture and has a home with a team that actually would rather have him over a few mediocre prospects

I’m not a Cubs fan but I catch a lot of games on tv due to the WGN network. I don’t recall ever seeing a team trade away so much talent all at once. These are bonafide star players. Tough to see. Hang in there cub fans.

They might have if not for the strike. That team was 74-40 when the season was called. Walker was batting 320, Alou was batting 340, Ken Hill was 16-5 with a 3.30 era and Pedro was 11- 5 with a 3:40 era. By the time the strike was over, Walker, Grissom, Hill, and Wettland were gone.

I was shocked to find him and Gallo were Yankee fans growing up. -
Anthony Rizzo is such a good person. I hope Yankees fans and the NY media treat him right.

Yes but the expos weren’t all shipped off in a matter of two days. I agree that a lot of talent walked in Montreal, but that was spread out over sometime not all in a 24 hour period.

Phillies got 1 hit last night in a 7-0 loss to the Pirates. The Mets can finish 10 games under .500 and still win the east since Acuna is hurt and the Nats had a fire sale.

Fair point but general consensus is that they would have probably won the WS in 94 if not for the strike.
