I’m not a Cubs fan but I catch a lot of games on tv due to the WGN network. I don’t recall ever seeing a team trade away so much talent all at once. These are bonafide star players. Tough to see. Hang in there cub fans.

Expos never won anything. This was a core Cubs group that just got extradited .
They might have if not for the strike. That team was 74-40 when the season was called. Walker was batting 320, Alou was batting 340, Ken Hill was 16-5 with a 3.30 era and Pedro was 11- 5 with a 3:40 era. By the time the strike was over, Walker, Grissom, Hill, and Wettland were gone.

I was shocked to find him and Gallo were Yankee fans growing up. -
Anthony Rizzo is such a good person. I hope Yankees fans and the NY media treat him right.

Yes but the expos weren’t all shipped off in a matter of two days. I agree that a lot of talent walked in Montreal, but that was spread out over sometime not all in a 24 hour period.

Phillies got 1 hit last night in a 7-0 loss to the Pirates. The Mets can finish 10 games under .500 and still win the east since Acuna is hurt and the Nats had a fire sale.

I fear the Phillies offense still though just not worried about their pitching … I still think Braves can pass both
Yea if I had to pick one it would be the Braves. Phillies offense is terrible, Bryce his hitting for average but no real power and it seems like he's hurt. Rhys is Rhys so I'm sure he will find himself in the middle of an 0-30 soon. Didi must have had whatever talent he had left stolen by the monstars when the new Space jam came out. Bohm seems to be in one of the worst sophomore slumps of all time. Jean is alright but still a very unlikable guy. JT seems to be looking like a horrible mistake of a contract but you still had to do it. Whoever is playing center can be penciled in for a few strikes outs and misplayed balls daily. So I would worry about the Phillies offense about as much as I would a volcano erupting in Philadelphia.

Yes correct. With covid and everything it seems like yesterday they were on there. My memory is a little fuzzy, but I remember at least a few years them being on there and basically my entire life them being on WGN

I’m not here to trash the Expos. 94 would most likely have been their year. They gave up a huge haul of talent after that strike. My point was I don’t recall so many star players from one team leaving in such a short time. Like the Cubs did.
We arent talking about a small market team. Like the Cleveland baseball team or the Marlins.

yeah I'm not disagreeing with you at all. That said, addition by subtraction. Unfortunately, I'm not sure the cubs have ownership that want to win again. This year and week we saw teams who are in win mode and what they are willing to do to achieve it.

Just looking out there you’d think one or two of those guys were franchise players. These guys grew up through the Cubs organization. I’m not even a Cubs fan and I’m like how?
