I’m in my 40s and never gonna make it past this level. I’ve hit 600 once in 103 games played(was quickly booted out lol). I’m always seeing posts about pitchers that get raked in all star level but dominate in hall of fame/legend. So I’m just curious what pitchers actually do decent in this level of any. Thanks!

I’m with you man. I’m 35, know I’m never going to commit to even trying to get to World Series. Happy just to be able to sneak a couple games in when I can.

What pitchers I’ve had best success with are obviously the consensus meta guys, like 99 degrom and FS Cabrera. Besides them, guys with great speed differentials between pitches and good to great control seem to do well at this level depending on your opponent’s plate discipline. Having a good sinker or cutter is always a plus at any difficulty.

Lee and Jenkins have been good for me. Ohtani has been mixed results but it’s just fun using his card. I had a couple good starts with FS Crochet back when TA2 came out but not sure if he’s still viable now. It was easier for me to pitch with Crochet than Glavine.

Haven’t used Vida Blue myself but faced him for the first time last night and he gave me fits. That was after facing Cabrera in back to back games. Saw Vida on load up screen, felt relieved to see anyone besides Cabrera, then proceeded to get diced up for the next 40 minutes.

Jenkins is really good on all-star and eligible for the event.

I've never made it past 500 so I spend a lot of time on all star too. I do really well with cliff lee, and before all these really high rated cards started coming out recently I also had a lot of success with mark prior.

Any card is usable on all star. If you run into someone that can hit you're going to get blown up no matter who you have pitching.

To answer the question though, look for guys that have a hard fastball and a slower off speed stuff. Remember, under 600 you're mostly going to be playing people as bad at hitting as you are, so speed differentials are important, as are having a good curve or slider, since a lot of players at that level can't layoff that stuff.

This 100%. Outlier and a good slider will go a long way in AS difficulty.

I mainly play on Allstar. The key as others have said is speed differential and tunneling. I highly recommend cliff lee. His sinker cutter changeup can be nasty. Jenkins is good as well

It really depends more on how you use them and playing to your opponent's weaknesses, but I would value H/9 and K/9 above all else as the combination of these will shrink the opponent's PCI. You also want BB/9 high enough to where you can actually locate pitches consistently. Depending on your chosen method of input, 80 plus is where you want to be. HR/9 is a sim stat and does nothing in game so don't worry about that one.

Here to join the club...I am 42 and play All Star and enjoy All Star...currently at around 645 and told my son today if I did get to 700 I would probably just stop until the next season. Degrom, Cabrera, Lee and Leiter have all worked well with the little I play ranked. However, Fergie is my personal favorite...I just prefer that traditional four seam to be able to rely on, but I love his command and the sinker and forkball are nice to have. His pitch mix just really seems to make it where you don't have to rely on just one or two pitches. Lee is pretty similar in my opinion...a variety of pitches that can be relied on for strikes. Paxton is one I have not liked at all.

I'll join the 40 something year old All Star club as well. Most of my RS games are on AS. Seems like I can get into the 700's but then usually loose a couple and get knocked back down to reality. The pitchers I've had the most success with are, no surprises here, but Degromm and Cabrera. I would also throw Crotchet into this mix and those have easily been my top 3. The other 2 in my rotation are Cliff Lee and Glavine. I have had some success with those two also but I've been getting hit around with them more than usual lately so looking to give a few others a shot.

Orel, Fergie, caberera, anyone with a good sinker and change combo with speed variance. Also a good breaking slider. Need good speed variance to combat the endless foul balls.

If you play offline do it on HOF, it will improve your hitting for online, also look for their pitching patterns when playing online. Picking up pattern helps off set the over 40 eyes.
