B. You do realize Jeter's best card will be like the 94 Joe Morgan, but with Common defense, right?
Jeter's top card will have common defense? The dude got 5 golden gloves and some of his highlights were defensive plays. His top card would have max contact and 80s power.
Here we go again. Jeter was garbage defensively from every single metric. A Shortstop that should have moved off SS 12-15 years before he did because of his hitting reputation..
If you cite GG's as an argument, then you're clueless.
Jeter's range was absolutely brutal. As someone who grew up watching all of jeters career even seeing him play a lot I can say without a doubt the metrics don’t paint the real picture. I get the numbers say he sucked but Jeter was so consistent, no he wouldn’t make plays like José Iglesias, Rey Ordóñez, Ozzie Smith, A Simmons to name a few but you also never held your breath when the ball was hit to him. Plus since he always went all out you would get those highlight plays that everyone loved.

The issue with Jeter's defense is that he had no range.. like, historically bad. Especially to his left. He was fundamentally sound with what he got to, sure, and had a pretty good arm as well as a decent DP turn. But I'm not exaggerating when I'm saying he was historically bad at getting to what other SS's would get to. Hence why it's not as noticeable until you see his brutal metrics. ARod should have moved him off SS.. not the other way around.

I was blessed enough to watch Jeter play over 300 games in person. He had good range. He was never elite but if you put him in today's game with the shift all the time, he's a great SS. Now with all that being said, I'm the first to admit that his card would be average. I would still use it all year though.. His greatness can't be measured by numbers.
-
He would have at least one super juiced card for sure. All they have to do is make a PS card, or a second half type card where he was phenomenal all the way around and any life time numbers would be out the window. They do this for tons of players, they will definitely do it for Jeter.

I’ll say it again, what made Jeter great was the intangibles. You can’t deny the guy was a great leader and had worldclass baseball IQ. He wasn’t a flashy guy but seemed to always get the job done and always gave it 100%
And I’m a Jays fan…. Hated the guy but always respected him. He handled himself like a professional baseball player should. I’d take a Jeter on my team anyday

This reminds me of the people that were wanting a Roberto Clemente card in the game and that he would be used a lot...I don't see him in too many line ups today...Jeter although a good player would not be an end game card diamond defense with little range and some power...it would be one way for SDS to market the game and get some fans super excited at launch...

They may put a better Roberto Clemente card in the later inning programs. The same thing goes with Pedro, there's no way SDS is going to forget those two players that impacted the game.
Also, coming from a Yankees fan, I would love to see more players from the 2004 Red Sox team in the future games. -

Great leaders don't force superior defenders to change positions solely to stoke their own egos. Great leaders do what's best for the team, not for themselves.

I don't think we see Jeter anytime soon. But if we do, statistics be d@mned, it will be an inflated Milestone card with diamond D and the card art is him making a jump throw or falling into some seats.

The greatest trick the devil ever played was convincing millions of Americans that Derek Jeter was Italian.
He isn’t? I thought his name was short for Dereko Jeteroni
-
If Tom glavine can throw 97 in this game, Jeter can get a diamond in fielding on his sig card
-
Off subject. Sorry.. I can remember watching Jeter play for the Columbus Clippers...good God would he SMOKE the ball....sheesh.
