What makes you play this game?
-
For me, I put in my 8 hours but it's constant mind games all day, eat lunch at my desk while working and then I bust my [censored] at the gym for an hour and a half, come home to the wife and 3 kids. Everyone goes to bed so I start up the show to hit some dingers, complete collections and just destroy the CPU for fun. Online is too toxic for me, so I stick to offline modes. I just want to play to clear my mind and relax (so no moments when I'm stressed, lol)
What is the driving force for you?

Love for baseball and I enjoy accomplishing missions
-
I just love baseball and I find this game allot of fun , I like grinding and playing DD....its just s great game.

I've bought and played every year of The Show that has come out. I used to be basically solely a Franchise player. Would always do two, one with my Brewers and one with a fantasy drafted team and switch between the two when I got a little bored. Started DD last year and am addicted. lol

It's the same for me, it's a way to unwind after a long day of work. I too mostly play offline and prefer to build a team and play conquest. This year I'm determined to have every player available or close to. Only missing Schmidt/Walker/Gossage and the home run derby cards now.

For me it’s just nice to get caught up in a game to just clear the mind. If I start getting frustrated I simply turn it off. I play video games to relax. I’ve been playing the show every year since ps2.

Played ball all my life up through college and a year in the farm system. Now I’m out of shape and old (3 kids and a wife) so this game is what keeps my competitive juices flowing.
-
For me it is simply fomo.

I have picked up a fair bit of steam on collecting every card (was 12 waitlisted cards away last year). I'm 30 away now. Would be 28 but I have missed 2 days of daily moments and will get Cruz tomorrow.

I do it while working now lol. So boredom.
It’s better while WFH. I get off and turn it off. Go for a run, a swim, the gym. Weekends I golf and spend more time at the Home Depot/Lowe’s and doing things to my house and yard.

My custom league. We all use unique players and await cards getting released all year.
-
Baseball is life man! Playing head to head against someone is a blast

Schmidt is the hard one for me, unlinke last year though I have a bunch of investments into BR players and other rewards that i'll sell off once the big collection is dropped. Best of luck with your remaining 30 players.

i have a massive crush on joey gallo and i [censored] in my pants every time he hits a no doubt HR, thats the only reason i play
-
I’m not sure. I believe I have an addiction to videogames. Does that even exist?
-
Love the game and doing missions! I just wish there was an offline event-based tournament like ranked seasons!
-
Entertainment, never gonna be good enough for WS, so I enjoy playing events and other missions
-
I like baseball and the "chess match" that comes with pitching and hitting. Trying to keep the other guy guessing at the plate while trying to figure out their patterns on the mound (sometimes a bit too easy). Not always going to crush the balls you sit on though and sure some of the early swing HRs but good timing weak outs is depressing. Plus the amount of content in DD that can be earned just from putting some time in is absolutely top notch compared to other games.
And its still probably the best direct H2H sport game and the one game that feels true to the actual sport I've played in recent years. Only online mode I like more than DD is playing NHL's EASHL with a few buddies.
But NHL is full of glitch goals and completely random physics.
Haven't played Madden in years because it never feels like actual football (people run the same 2 un-defendable plays....one failed drive and you lose)
NBA is just people dribbling side to side and making unrealistic shots because of green releases and non-perfect releases are very random and not in a good way. -

That would be a game changer!

Before I started making WS it was less stressful for me. Now I expect good things from myself and rage a lot. Being good enough to make WS sometimes is a curse.
