Or players could just slow down and look in the corner of the selected card to see if it shows a x1 which means they already have it.

The card has a number showing how many you own, if you do in fact own any.
I know these threads keep coming up but I'm sorry I don't buy it.

It only shows when you have the cursor on him - you do have to watch carefully as you scroll your choices.

Um...okay. It still shows you own the card. If people are picking cards twice, that would seem to be on them.
