That gives the game a lot of hope. The general consensus is this patch made this the worst version of mlb the show to date which is unfortunate because just a week ago we were playing possibly the BEST version of mlb the show ever made. (Minus a few bugs and a few misc fixes)
Why they chose to scale the game back to a broken random dumpster fire is really beyond my understanding. I can’t even imagine the casual players would have any sort of fun playing this game in its current state.
That being said that makes me think positive about the eventual outcome.

They need people that are actually good in this game testing it. We’ve watched the dev streams let’s be honest...none of you are very good at your own game which in turn makes you think other people can possibly be good at the game. To be honest all of you would be about 500-600 range or less in the grand scheme of things. So maybe get some very high skilled players down there to test the game?
-
Accept that ppl want to have fun. Forget micro managing telemetry and data. If the scores are 10-8 they are 10-8. It got harder as you moved up...and it’s a lot more fun then 1-1 or 2-1 with 15 lineouts on great inputs by both teams.

Respect the community and stay true to your word. You sold this game on SKILL WOULD MATTER. And INPUTS WOULD MATTER. They don’t. Period. Inputs mean literally nothing.
I like the game. It’s not perfect, but they are trying to make a realistic baseball game and every year it has gotten more realistic.
This game isn’t realistic. When Freddie Freeman works a 3-2 count with the bases loaded lefty on righty and gets a meatball he times perfectly with perfect bat barrel location. It’s not an out. When mike trout gets a routine fly ball it doesn’t hit him in the face. When arenado gets a grounder he might whiff one here and there. Not 3 times in one game. Accept there needs to be user skill in h2h play you want a baseball sim play offline.
Hey it’s not perfect, but they are trying to make an authentic baseball game. Are there bugs in the game, of course there are, but I think most of them will be fixed in a patch. The main issue I believe you have with the game is that they are trying to make it realistic. From what I gather from you, it sounds like you want an arcade game. That’s fine, but this isn’t that type of game.

Yeah it’s so realistic that every time a relief pitcher comes in he drops his glove on the mound
Lol. That is funny, but I think you know what I mean. It’s not perfect, but it gets better every year. People are always going to complain, but I don’t think you can reasonably argue that the game hasn’t gotten better over the years.
Graphics are better, content is better that I will agree on. Fielding this year is on par with 16 where fly balls hit the outfielders and are not caught. Pitching was way more accurate in 16 and hitting in my opinion was better in 16 as well. As soon as ball physics were introduced in 17, hitting has been a [censored] shoot ever since then. I was loving the game this year in the early release but since the patch the game is more frustrating to me than fun now. I wasn’t even going to buy the game this year but my son gave me $100 in Sony gift cards for my birthday and I sure wasn’t going to spend it on 19 so here I am again LOL

True I'll give you that it has gotten better over the yrs because if it didn't we wouldn't be playing a baseball game this yr right?!!The fielding is still sketchy. You have 53 arm strength guys throwing ropes from RF and or LF from the wall to keep you to a single CPU fielders still make way to many All-Star plays and catches but that's realistic right?!! The hitting tanked after the 1st patch hasn't been the same since..But you are sure they're working on it which they may be..Base running is horrid and fielders standing beside balls in the outfield while runners run the bases..Yes that's realism and so realistic..Until those things are fixed and half the community is happy this is not real

As someone who's played MLB the show for 8+ years, I'd hardly call this the worst version ever. SDS has continually made improvements to the franchise over the past few years. I'd agree the game could use some tweaking and a patch, but you're blowing this way out of proportion and being overly dramatic. It's not that bad
18 was the worst version ever

Programming the game to have both users hit and pitch to real life MLB averages is ignorant. Especially online.
No and yes. Offline in modes such as Franchise MTO and RTTS this is important. Who wants to win games 99-0 like we did in the 90s?
But 100% agree with you about online. Keep the sim aspect well away.

I’m enjoying the game overall, and I appreciate what they are doing to support it during these weird times. Nice work SDS, we appreciate u.
What I don’t understand is how hitting STILL makes no sense. You hit HRs on bad timing swings that the PCI is barely touching the ball, and other times you square up balls perfectly and get like 87mph exit velocity.
I really was hoping this wouldn’t be a thing again this year after all the talk about “perfect, perfect” etc. I would take this fix over any other new addition or tweak... if there was no Showdown, no upgrades to RTTS, no new legends, but the hitting made sense, I would be a happy camper.
The input was much better before the latest patch. I’m getting a lot of good/ok feedback on balls that I’m all over, they should be at the least good squared up.
Then there’s balls that leave the yard with early/ok contact. Or you go deep on a ball where your pci hardly touches the ball and you get good/good feedback, like what?
-
You guys must not venture into the fb groups much. You can’t make a constructive criticism post there without a bunch of nerdy kids that just got the game for the first time that play franchise on rookie telling you that you suck

they did fly top players out for their "winter meetings" played well before final release
I think the point is why do all that along with the beta, all the data and all the player feedback just to change hitting two days after release
this is what ive been saying since the latest patch - why are we in constant beta mode? and why is there constantly so much extreme changes in gameplay? it makes no sense
I didn’t even think of this. So true. What happened to all the testing and feedback
-
This just reinforces what I've said all along. They listen too much to top players and not enough to the community as they claimed they would.
Stop listeing to your partners and fix things that you broke to make your community happy. Failing to do so will ultimately result in you losing your overall player base slowly and the eventual death of this game.
-
If I center pci a ball and it’s good okay 75 percent of my swings it’s broken. During early release hitting was amazing and SDS said pitching was harder during the dev tournament. But now I’m seeing perfect perfects that shouldn’t be. If you told me I’m bouncing a curveball and you perfect perfect it that is unrealistic
