So they nerfed pitching to fix hitting. Does that even make sense? I was always terrible at hitting never used contact swing so not a real big deal but they didn't fix hitting on HoF. Now I won't be able to pitch very good so will suck at 2 things in this game.
Cant we just fix HoF timing windows?
They didn’t nerf pitching but just raised the skill level required. Also, there is nothing wrong with HoF timing windows.

If you have been playing for an hour and a half then simple math tells me it was only down for 15 minutes. Website is still down though

I never contact swung and don’t use pinpoint, but I’m glad the community is getting what it seems to want. Hope it works.

My PS5 was shut down completely, so the patch didn't auto-download. It took a while for that, so it may have been up and running even sooner. Definitely a quick outage compared to what we've had in the past.

It went down 15 min before the hour. So it went down at 3:45am pacific instead of 4. So probably came up sooner too.

I believe the change is meant to impact high power guys more than the rest of the cards, it will still affect the low power guys but to a lesser extent.
It makes perfect sense because low power guys don’t get crazy exit velos that often, so the nerf is in proportion to what the card attributes bring to the user.
I mean the patch update says this will affect power hitters pretty clearly. Doesnt say anything else. My fear is that guys were loading up lineups with power hitters and using O. Now they can still do it with balanced guys. Some of those guys have better power numbers than some lower ranked "power hitters"
They didn’t mean power hitters by type, but power hitters by power attribute. The nerf to contact swing power is to players with high power regardless of how they are labeled in game.

And how will they be different from all the cry baby complaint threads we saw about contact hitting before change?
I almost see the complainers after the patch having a more valid excuse. They were allowed to develop their game using contact hitting and more lenient pinpoint pitching. Now they are getting their playstyle nerfed.
No difference to me either way as I use neither contact swings or pinpoint pitching.
It doesn’t sound like contact swing will be unusable, you just won’t hit tanks from using it as often. People who implemented it into their strategy should still be able to use it effectively, just less extra base hits from it (how it should be)

All I know is that contact swing is a lot more effective today than pre-patch. People hitting tanks off pitches in the dirt with pci the size of the moon. Doesn’t look nerfed to me

If you are playing the event the PCI is already the size of the moon

Yes I’m aware of that but people are using it in events too making the pci the size of the strike zone pretty much. Just saying if it’s working on this it’s probably working in ranked also

Ain't no one trotting out a common pitcher in ranked and if they are you can bet I'd be the one who had to face them and still strikeout

But best of all is when they state that R2 was implemented to keep people from quick pitching!
Yes, it will be adjusted. But to those who say quick pitching isn't possible; there's your proof!
Been saying this from the get go. Quickpitching was why I used r2, but this year the griefing with R2 and PPP was out of control.

I hope so. Power meta gets boring. It would be nice to be able to use Boggs/Gwynn/Hernandez types and be competitive.
Side note: XP should have been addressed in the patch.
