The Secret to Being Elite at MLB

240 Hz monitor…..I’ve done quite a bit of searching, even tried a few and returned them…..I think this is the best choice with all factors considered especially price.
I know people will say it doesn’t matter because MLB is capped at 60 FPS, but that is false it does matter….research a little further.

Interesting. I trust your judgement. Do they make them in a 27”? I’ve been considering upgrading myself but if I upgrade I want to go slightly bigger than 24” this time.
What were you using before? Also have you tried out any curved monitors? If so, what are your thoughts. Seems gimmicky to me but I haven’t tried one.

I have an LG CX and have tried several monitors with different panel types and most at 144 Hz or 165 Hz overclocked or whatever they call it. The 240 Hz monitors are so much better. I’m not exactly sure how to explain why, but I have come across a couple forum posts on blur busters that explain why. I have so much more time to react playing RS in WS….so noticeable.
There are 27 inch options, but they are typically more expensive. This particular Alienware monitor allows you to use the next Gen consoles at 120 Hz without manually overriding the input. It is such a steal at 270 dollars.
As far as curved monitors go there are 27 inch options. The specs tend to be slightly worse. I came across this monitor while searching and it’s solid.

The main competitor to the Alienware I linked seems to be the Ben Q Zowie XL2546K.
I am thinking about buying it and trying it then returning which one I don’t choose. It has a TN panel which is more basic, but better for simple image processing. Supposedly the new IPS panels like on the Alienware are on par with TN panels now offering better picture quality. I am curious to try it and compare.

Legitimately feels like I’m playing BR on All Star with this monitor in WS games. Very early on Cabrera, but can still see and time off speed fairly easily.

I thought the secret was sliders away,

Most of my biggest weaknesses have nothing to do timing, so it would do me very little good to bother with a monitor. Even if it did help, playing on a smaller screen just isn't as much fun.
The content is designed so that even the worst players can field a pretty amazing team if they're willing to work at it, so I could care less about ever being "elite." In my experience the most negative and toxic people who post on here typically have way better records than me, so if playing on my TV means I'll never get good enough to be matched up with any of them then I'm totally content with continuing to suck.

thank you for this post i am looking into new monitors and going to check out what you're saying

Curious to hear why you think you need more than a 60hz monitor on the show or older consoles at all. Not trying to dispute your claim I’m genuinely interested

I thought it was Contact Swinging

Is it that bad playing on an LG CX? Isn't that 120HZ?

It’s good….the Alienware monitor I linked there is a very noticeable difference. Pretty disappointing given that it cost me 2,000 back in February haha. Still good to use, but it’s tough to not use the monitor now.

I’m not a tech guy, but check out blur buster forums. I came across some discussions and posts that explain the benefits of having the higher Hz even when the output is at a lower frame rate.

Why does this matter to the topic?

The PS4 and PS4 Pro are capped at 60Hz. A PS5 is capped at 120Hz. A 240Hz monitor would do absolutely nothing lol.

This is fake news and OP must sell 240hz monitors.

Only idiots use term "fake news".

Don't listen to these guys, they all work for big monitor! It is a tactic to sell more monitors. Shame! Shame! Shame!
