Just now getting the game and starting DD squad...what should I do first?

Had been planning to take this year off, but my little brother just got the game and I thought it would be fun to play him online while he's still learning and not good enough to destroy me every game (so, for the next two days or so).
This is my 4th year playing DD, and I usually grind conquest and moments offline and work the market to build up a decent squad before I jump in online.
Any other modes that'll quickly get you some good players?
Other than the usual guys from the last couple of years (Gallo, Seager, etc.), any budget bats/arms to target for online play?
Oh and as a side note, the little bro pulled LS DeGrom in his free 11 packs when he logged in for the first time. I got a rock.

Start with the Team Affinity 2 progressions. There are 10 players in each division (all diamonds) and you pick which players from the packs you get as you progress.
Start with the moments from each division and you should unlock the first player pack in each division. Go to conquest using those (about 6 total) players and play the West, Central, and East team affinity 2 conquest maps. As you use the players to beat the conquest goals, complete each player’s challenge listed in the team affinity menus and you’ll be making a solid squad in no time.

I've had the game less than a month and finished collections yesterday. Save your stubs and they'll basically give you most players with team affinity packs. You know how to do it. You ain't new to this.

set your lineup with all players from that division and do both TA maps, pts for each map and you ll work on both seasons too, as one is innings and TA2 is plate appearances.

Appreciate all the help I’ve already put a decent squad together might start playing online soon.
The market sure is a lot of fun so far this year.
