Bruh who was hiding The Beatles from us? Like I knew the existed but I always wrote it off as old music that I wouldn't like. Well I started listening on Spotify for fun to some of their top songs, like Come Together, Twist and Shout, Hey Jude, and Let It Be and this stuff slaps. Like still holds up today! Surprised I went 18 years before realizing this stuff is actually fire.

Ah, this reminds me of this girl who was listening to a Paul McCartney song and said "wow he is actually really talented, I'm pretty sure he'll make it eventually".

Hiding? They are the most successful and well known band in history.

Humans have existed for around 250,000 years. It’s possible a few others may have had some good ideas before you existed too.

I kid. But yea, glad you get to experience them.

I just can’t listen to them anymore; my parents were teenagers when they came out and of course listened to it; heard it growing up and can’t take it anymore. My dad was a big fan of Elvis and Johnny Cash, and I agree with Cash for sure. I’m in the same boat as another poster: I’ll take the Stones before the Beattles, especially the earlier stuff like Paint It Black and this era.

I liked Lenon’s scratchy voice way more than Paul, especially on songs like Revolution. The Stone Temple Pilots’ cover was great (and sadly both performers died too soon).

I agree. I’d especially listen to the ‘68-‘72 Stones (Beggars Banquet, Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile on Main St.). In my opinion, no band has ever released a better string of albums (or at least rock and roll albums) than the Stones did between those years. If you find that you like that stuff, then I’d recommend checking out Get Yer Ya Ya’s Out (a live album from 1969) and various live bootlegs from 1972. Happy listening!

Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd say hello.

Expand your musical mind, and good things will come.

Listening to Pink Floyd for the first time was an experience I”ll never forget. The “space rock” feel is something you just cant mimic. Just unreal talent!

Every music evolves from another. Very very very few artists though have the staying power and can truly be tied all the way back to music decades before.

Classical, blues, funk, big band... They all lead to rock, pop, r&b etc. Finding organic relationships to each other is one of the greatest aspects of music.

Anyone else here from the all-night queue in 1993 at the Ticketmaster outlet near Chattanooga, for Pink Floyd tix in Nashville the next year? I was second in line with my university buds and when the doors opened in the morning, the computers went down for 30 minutes. We ended up waaaay at the back of Vanderbilt Stadium. Still a great show.
