The cpu doesn’t even need to get the pci on the ball or use contact swing. It just decides it’s time for the game to be close and makes your infielders boot routine plays, or for bronze Michael Lorenzon to go 2/2 vs your diamond starter.

Yeah, the pitches the cpu homered were bad releases, the fact that cards with low power homered with what seemed to be contact swings in 2 strike counts it’s the problem.

I've lost track of the times a bronze fielder scales the wall to rob a HR or lays out for an impossible diving catch.

I'm not saying you can't hit home runs on a contract swing. I've done it irl but it's the rate that it happens that's annoying to me. If they did some kind of percentage like there's a 10% chance on contact swings, 50/50 on normal and 80/20 on power swings i could probably live with that.

Those odds are crazy my man. 50/50 being a HR or a regular hit and 80/20? Matter of fact the harder you swing IRL as you say the less chance of contact happens..Again IRL

How is it abuse when it’s a hitting option? Within your logic, everyone in the past has been D-bags for using x because it was the agreed upon most effective way to hit.
I don’t really care either way, I guess if I had to side one way, I’d rather they patch it since I don’t think it’s providing the intended results, but I just can’t fathom any logic in the type of response I quoted.

The home runs are only part of the problem. I was playing an event game the other day where my opponent would use contact swing and foul off every off-speed pitch in the dirt or slider that's far inside. Then once I actually put the ball in the zone it was an easy hit. This shouldn't be the case - it can't just be a tennis racket bailout every time you fall behind in the count. There's no skill involved.
Glad it's supposedly going to be addressed because this has gone on for too long.

This right here!! I had a guy spamming contact swings. I started putting curveballs in the dirt and he still fouled them off until my relief pitcher got down to red and was only on his second batter. Eventually your pitcher puts one right down the middle once they get that low energy and you better believe he smashed a homer 320 feet to right field. Lol

Well they acknowledged the problem and said it was going to be addressed in the 2nd inning stream. Still nothing done, so don't get your hopes up.

You can definitely tell when someone is doing nothing but contact swings...wish they could find a balance...in past games contact swing was useless...now it's completley overpowered

I have only used contact in 0-2 counts in the past, but in an event game, I just hit one 450 ft with Anthony Santander.
I can't imagine the number of HR's I've given up via contact swing.
They aren't going to fix it, so might as well use it.What year was the infamous "everything I hit hangs in the air as if I was playing on the moon"?
Contact swinging is useless in CPU. For players like Johnny Damon or Kenny Lofton who specifically have "CONTACT" under their card, they suck at it. But good results for power swinging. Not sure how that happens.
