I dunno, showdown isn't hard. A little annoying, though.
-
Showdown is fun, but can be frustrating. It kind of reminds me of original NES games - when you fail you have to start over. I enjoy this aspect.
If I could change one thing, it would be to provide more vouchers. Doing it 3 times for one FotF is a bit much. Twice is plenty.
-
I'll win 75% of the time and all the rewards are cool but that other 25% makes me question wether or not my monitor is going to make it through the game cycle.
I still don't know how they expect new and casual guys to do it because BA on anything good/good or higher is NOT what it is supposed to be.

Why am I the only person that doesn't have any problems with showdown?
I’m not even that good and I haven’t failed a showdown yet.
1st inning, AL Central, AL West x3, NL Central x2
I call BS. If you have finished 7 showdowns without losing a single one then nobody is going to believe the "I’m not even that good " line. I know I don't believe it because I have failed the first boss of the 1st inning program all three times that I have attempted it, and that is the very definition of not very good.
I’m really not that good lmao. Usually struggle pretty hard in events, and only play RS when there’s nothing left offline to do.
-
I have failed the first inning showdown 16 times. It's really comical at this point.
The last time I was down by 1 run with 2 outs left. Runners on second and third, guy on second is the winning run.
Perfect/perfect lineout and then a frustration ground out. Sigh -
I think the key is a balanced lineup and being patient enough to wait on your pitch or take walks. I haven’t had much trouble aside from Morton in the AL East. Guy has my number.
Sale and Cole get crushed every time I get past Morton. Lineup is just too weak at that point.
-
I got fortunate and drew Marquez as last boss. 15-8 and completed it one time through lineup with Kiermaier walking it off from the 8th spot. Failed numerous times before that facing Jansen 15-15, 15-12 and 15-11. Also, of the additional 4 rounds of extra picks throughout the process, 14 of possible 16 picks were pitchers. Ketel Marte and Cody B were only position players I saw, and obviously selected. I loaded all lefties and tried to balance vision and power.
-
I do not want you to have Snell.
-
I was able to beat the AL East, after about 7 or so tries, but now I've failed the AL Central a few times. Some of the showdowns were just nuts. Score 6 runs in one inning on veteran, score 4 runs in one inning on HoF. That was the last one before the final showdown and I wanted to skip it so I hit forfeit ... not realizing it would forfeit the entire Showdown. I haven't played since

The AL Central and AL West ones are easy though. You don't have living cheat codes as bosses there. Verlander and Kopech are cakewalks compared to Scherzer and deGrom
Alright, I’ll try the NL East tonight
pray you have better draft luck than me. last run through every single gold round was pitcher only!
Edit: Also, you being better than me is irrelevant to my gripe(You likely are better lmao). I just wish they'd stop lying about the difficulty. If it was Hall of Fame and it said Hall of Fame, I'd be fine with it. But it often says All Star and feels like Hall of Fame, which is dirty as heck
Can confirm NL East blows. Good thing it’s probably the weakest division in terms of FotF cards though.
Edit: beat it on the second try

Soto looks like a beast. I wouldn't know for sure though since I've failed that showdown no less than 7 times

Soto is absolutely a monster, and Nola is good as well, but you can live without him. Conforto, Albies, and Anderson are meh based on the many runs through I've done -

Yeah Soto looks good, but Albies, Nola, Anderson, and Conforto are all underwhelming.
Albies would be a lot better if his good splits were against RHP. Nola would be fine for now, but there’s nothing special or unique about him, and his pitch repertoire is pretty bland. Anderson is just bad. And Conforto is nothing more than a bench bat for most people.

Conforto, Albies, and Anderson are meh based on the many runs through I've doneI actually managed to get Nola solely through the Phillies collection + innings (I'm a Phillies fan) and tbh he is pretty meh. I have no desire to even try anyone else from the NL East other than Soto
-
Yea, I made a list of ones I wanted. I have: Correa, Bell, Ohtani and Torres. I have failed quite a few including 2 times for Snell since I only need one more win.
Probably going after Snell, Soto and possibly Gallo. That is probably it for me.
-
Snellzilla, I have completed AL East twice, probably started it 10 times, never once beat that one.

You're not. While I have had to replay a few times. They're not bad once you get a feel for how the Elimination Pitchers are pitching. Took me a few tries in the NL East to realize I just needed to let Max Scherzer, One of the Best Pitchers in the game, throw Slider after Slider out of the zone and tire himself out. And sit on High Fastballs against Ohtani in the AL West.

Because you're really good at the game?
Funny you dont see the multitudes of posts from average AS calibre players talking about how easy showdown is.

Hey it happened AGAIN. Please SDS, PLEASE stop doing this
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ET_cAsIXQAEvJ3N?format=jpg&name=large
And the best part about this is there is gonna be a mission later in where you will need your bullpen and even though you’ve drafted 3 silver or better pitchers they’ll make you start the inning with a 61 overall and only have 2 options for you in the bullpen. Your closer and some other random 63 overall.
It’s like you made me draft them at least let me use them lol
