So how many Ohtani’s do you have?
LOL honestly, only 2. Not about stubs, Ohtani and Alex Reyes demand justice!
Stop worrying about the shiny icon in the top right corner. Just play the card with the attributes. 79 mondesi plays better than 98 David Justice. You heard it here first.

I get where you’re coming from but it’s simple and has already been said. His LS is a pitcher card so his ratings reflect him as a pitcher. Just the way the game is set up.
Who cares what his LS is anyway? The only reason you’d care is because you’re invested in him.
It’s SDS’s game. They will do exactly as they please!
If his ratings are unfair, please let me know what you think should be different? Otherwise the difference is literally just his overall rating which means nothing.

That's kinda the point. Why is his LS card just a pitcher? He's not just a pitcher.
Silly me, but I thought LS cards reflect the current MLB season. ️

LS cards actually reflect a 3 year average with the current season having most weight. Which his card does reflect going by individual ratings. It just doesn’t translate to the overall. Which again means nothing and has no effect on how the card performs

I think the point that is being made is that he isnt just a pitcher. He is a 2 way player. Considering that SDS made a big deal to hype up 2 way players for 21, you would think they would be able to reflect that in his live series card.

I have one of him, sold the other about an hour ago...please explain how that is investing in him?

They have it just doesn’t reflect his overall. Which does not effect how the card performs.

He is a diamond, it's just that hitting attributes don't effect the overall of his live serie. For his live series to be a high diamond he would have to start pitching like degrom.
I think they have it right. Hes a high gold pitcher with a diamond bat.
Yes but that combination for the MORE than complete player he is needs to be a 90+ diamond
As a hitter alone his can hit for power, steal a bag and has a cannon arm.
Yes but being a great hitter doesn't justify an increase to his pitching attributes. what youre missing is that he is a diamond, his overall rating just doesn't reflect it. If hitting attributes effected pitchers overalls then every pitcher in the game would be silver, except ohtani, who would be diamond.
I don't know how else to explain it.
It’s fairly obvious his card should be interchangeable, you should be able to start him in the OF or on the Mound, and his overall should be a representation of what he does in both positions, not what he does 20% of the time he’s on the field.
I can agree with that. I'm not saying he isn't a Great baseball player. I'm just saying the way sds handled his live series is the reason he isn't a 90 overall card.
But let's all be honest, this isn't about everyone thinking ohtani is getting hosed by sds, or what position he should be. This is about selling him. They could make him a 90 tomorrow and he wouldn't be in anyone's lineup.
For sure some people want to make some stubs, but honestly everything I say about him is in regards to playing with him, and did play with him for a long time. In fact, Ohtani is the most paralleled card in the game if I’m not mistaken. And I think he’s more than usable now, on days with IE at +10-15 he 9s are nearing relief pitcher numbers.
I didn’t mean to come at you either, just the idea that the attributes for this guy need to make sense because SDS has an algorithm in place I find annoying. He doesn’t make sense, his WAR will probably never make sense either. I proudly watch EVERY major sport and the minor ones too, but I’ve never seen anyone do something like this. I wasn’t old enough to see Bo or Deion and actually comprehend what they were doing, maybe it’s just exciting for me, I dunno.

I got 9 of him

I imagine its that they just haven't figure out, or haven't tried to implement a way to code Ohtani's card differently. How do you boost Ohtani's overall because of good hitting numbers without tanking every other SP (not named DeGrom) for having lower ones?
I'd imagine if they give us a Finest Ohtani later in the year he'd be a 99 SP with great hitting stats which is fine because it will be a static card that doesn't have any attribute changes.
