I have a complete inability to not drop my PCI.
I try so hard not to do it, but every time I think I don't the feedback says otherwise.
I really have no idea how to stop, but when I don't screw up, I hit great, but thats probably less than 5 percent of the time.
This is my 3rd year playing DD and my online average is never above .200. You can't win this way. Very frustrating, I've tried everything.

Do you use a monitor or a TV?

I use a monitor, that's made a little difference, but not as much as it has for others, or so they claim.

Have you tried moving the pci before the pitch? Maybe set up with the pci high before the pitch?
I'm also always low but I'm working on it

Yeah I've started placing it at the top of the zone. It's helping a little bit, but I always have to tell myself not to move it, recognize and react but I've done this for so long it's difficult not to drop it.

Do you keep the pci still when the pitcher is in their windup?

You need to figure out your strengths and weaknesses, which could be you’re a better low ball hitter than high ball hitter. Maybe that’s why you’re dropping PCI since it’s easier for you to jam analog downwards..
Challenge yourself to take more low pitches, regardless if it’s strike or not. Then get in the habit of attacking high part of the zone by moving upwards with analog, basically programming a hitting approach.

Something I do that occasionally works is placing my thumb on the bottom part of the stick (versus directly on top) so it’s a bit harder to drop unconsciously. It also helps hit those high sinkers. Only problem is that it makes it a little harder to consistently hit the ball down, but for me there’s nothing worse than dropping my pci and popping up something down the middle. Good luck!

Yes I do. I try as little movement as possible.

I just switched to zone myself and find I'm doing the same sometimes. But stay with it, because Zone makes hitting so easy, it's almost unfair.
I would suggest keeping your hands extremely loose. Don't choke the controller!
Also, I turned on 100% fadeout during the pitcher's delivery.
    Trust your hands and eyes.
Worry about timing more, because prior to Hall of Fame (if your reticle is in the same zip code with good timing) you can foul off any pitch.

Man I have had this exact same problem. The past couple of days I have been playing around with my hitting view and it's helped me alot. I was using strike zone 2, now I am using strike zone offset. I don't know why, but it's helped me a lot to break my habit of moving the pci down, and be late on my swings. I didn't ever think I'd be using this view setting. Just never liked it initially. Now I'm actually making solid contact with pitches. Not saying this will work for you, but give different views a shot. You might be surprised which one works for you. I still at times revert back to the old habit of moving my pci down. When I do, I start with my pci at the to of the strike zone and try to follow the ball out of the pitcher's hand the best I can. It's a tough habit to snap out of.....

And the later you are on a swing the lower the pci will end up

    Is that how that works???

It might sound totally counterintuitive, but placing it below the zone can be much more effective in not dropping your PCI. The reason for this is that you’re only triggered to move it up (rather than down).

I don’t do it anymore, but I did initially and it solved the problem.

I've found moving the pci while the pitcher is in their delivery helps to just react to where it is pitched. Stationary PCI really makes it hard to adjust especially up and in. I notice most of the probplayers keep the pci moving when the pitch is delivered.. I also started using control freaks in the left stick and I really like the feel. Again, I'm still terrible but it does help and I think I'm getting better. Check out YouTube, tons of good hitting tips. Just find a grip or prepitch routine that you like. It really is about individual feel for each player.

I have the same problem, but I start with my pci at the bottom of the zone. It is not completely fool proof but has helped.

Something that helped me is moving the pci to keep me distracted until the pitcher is about halfway through his motion and then set up. I think keeping it still for so long made me anticipate the pitch and pull it down. Only time I keep it still is if someone is using the same pitch on a certain count and I can sit on that pitch

I know, most stuff is toxic garbage.
I really like the feedback and tips. Started using some.
I'll keep experimenting, but ultimately I have to pick something and stick with it. Constant tinkering seems counterproductive. Been down that road before.

@elway7751_PSN my friend.. 3 copies of the show and you havnt figured it out... probably not going to figure out, you peeked lol with that said it’s a hard game and hitting is hard. I would take some pitches, try and understand what my opponent is doing... and set my PCI accordingly on a pitch to pitch bases. (Ex) I was just on a 0-2 count I knew my opponent had thrown a slider down and in almost every time on 0-2 and I sat on it.

I still do this rarely but I used to do it maybe half the time now maybe 1/10.

It’s just muscle memory. When the ball is middle or High you just need to tell yourself to keep the pci there.

I start my pci high. I keep it high. If the ball is really low or left and right I take the ball. Keep your brain thinking to wait for the high ball. If you do drop the pci on a pitch. Before the next pitch comes in…

3 times as a practise. Put the pci on your starting posistion and where the ball ended. Build up that muscle memory. You’ll get there dude.

Also I did find Kontrol Freeks helped.
