LG OLED for gaming?
-
I was using a gigabyte m27q monitor for almost 6 months. I sold it after getting a 55 inch OLED in my game room. My gameplay hasn't changed going from monitor to the OLED but I'm more comfortable sitting back plus other games are way more enjoyable to play on the tv.
I'm a big fan of using a monitor but you'll never get the same picture quality that you get using an OLED tv.
If you have a Costco or bestbuy locally that's where I'd get it from since you can get the warranty that covers burn in protection in case your worried about that.
I got the Vizio from best buy for $800 on black friday. I use the tv everyday and have almost 1,000 hours of screen on time and have no burn in at all. I've got close to 200 hours of the show played on it also.
Oleds are awesome tvs. The lg is a good bit more expensive. I have a LG CX in my living room and I gambled getting the Vizio but so far the Vizio has been great. Dolby vision movies are amazing on both sets

In almost all cases, a monitor is going to beat a TV at the same price. Especially if the monitor is """""tuned for gaming""""". That said, the gap is closer than it's ever been before, so if it works for you it works for you. For me, there's just no room for a TV with my current setup, so I just use my benq's
-
The LG CX is as faster than a gaming monitor in response time (.3ms), and close to a monitor in input lag (6.9ms) once The Show goes to 120fps (hopefully in '22). Input lag for the CX is 10.9 in MLB TS '21 due to TS only running at 60fps. The CX lets you actually see pitches better, and the bigger the CX the better as it gives curveballs more vertical movement and sliders/cutters more horizontal movement. I made CS multiple times last year in The Show (just shy of WS), and made WS twice so far this year using my CX (instead of a monitor).

If you don't have the room a monitor is always the best choice. Tvs are way better than they were in the past.
Problem I see alot is people will complain about a game but they are playing on a insignia or some $300 65 inch junker they got on black Friday at Walmart. -

Random question... anyone using an LG OLED for gaming? Thoughts on this versus a monitor?
I’m playing on the lgcx 65”. You can’t beat it.

LG C1 is excellent! Also four HDMI 2.1 ports for very future proof.
Monitors are nice but no reason to get anything over 120Hz as no console will support anything higher than that. Having a 144Hz monitor with a console that outputs at 60Hz won't make it the game any faster...
Add that 4k 120Hz monitors are $$$$.

The LG C1 ain’t exactly cheap either lol
But 2 questions for you Colin, 1 are you guys currently working on implementing 120fps for next years game or have things changed now that many games are being reworked for PS4 due to the lack of available ps5’s.
And 2 have you heard about Sony working on implementing a 1440p ps5 patch? Many people in the show community have monitors and the ps5 coming out with no 1440p was a bit of a let down, plus hdmi 2.1 tv and monitors are not cheap currently so it would be nice if there can be a middle ground right now until prices come down.
I would completely understand if you can’t answer the first question as it can be a major announcement for the future game and also not wanting to promise something that is still in development, but would be nice if you can give any sort of insight on the future of 1440p

I just got a C1 and it’s awesome.
Also I’m currently in a freeze off against a guy who intentionally did it, and am wondering when SDS is going to patch this. The guy replayed a home run I hit, and next batter comes up and I’m frozen. In looking at the guy’s game history, he seems to do it a lot.

Lol
I was scrolling through and had seen this topic had an sds response. So I check it. Sds answers a random off the wall question about a monitor, yet the games servers are not working right now. So many unanswered questions. So many issues.
I am truly WOWED today! -

I was recently banned and i was wondering if you could give me a reason as to why. I think it was due to me having george floyd as my logo but being black i find this very offensive. Even if this is the case why did i get banned for a year without warning or anything?

It's okay though, the PS5 will likely never support 4k 120fps. It barely supports 4k 60 right now as it is

What does a community manager scrolling the forums have to do with servers going down? You think he's the guy they call when servers [censored] out? "Dude is a joke"? Really??? Get a grip. This guy almost certainly has NOTHING to do with servers, EVER.
Be human, people. My god.

This is exactly why they don't respond to anything, as soon as they do they get flooded with BS nonsense questions.
The thread will probably get locked soon because everyone is going to jump on his jock now. -

I didn't say that because of the servers. I said that because he's a joke. Easily the most condescending community manager I've ever seen for a game. It sucks that's what the community is offered for support and help. Or even just as a community manager. He has no place holding that position. And I believe people are complaining about servers because he chooses to ignore the hundreds of posts about everything relevant and comments on the most random stuff. Usually coming off as confrontational or condescending.

I would also like to know if ‘22 will support 120fps. Recently purchased a Sony X900H and it’s input lag is much lower for 4K 120 than the 4k 60 it currently runs.
