Degrom is a bad comparison though. Degrom doesn't have outlier and every pitch he throws is hard, plus he has an easy to read delivery. Vida has a funky release, and massive speed differentials, with a 123 H/9. He will be plenty good. Vida doesn't have outlier either but that isn't the point

The only reason why cutters and off speed pitches are so effective is that they look the same as the sinker out of the hand and you can not catch up with it by reading the pitch and reacting properly.
When you try to pitch with a guy like DeGrom it is BP without the threat of the sinker.
It is disappointing they didn't give him a sinker. I can't imagine why he would be used over Lee, Leiter or Glavine in RS. Id probably rather throw Topps Now JA Happ or the 42 Patrick Corbin over Vida Blue.
Its also funny how the cutter always is shattering bats although it is like twice as slow as a sinker regardless of what the pitch speed numbers say.

BS....Crochet gets hammered against good players. Only people that don't have a monitor or have a bad connection won't be able to tee off on Vida Blue.

They gave him a slider which he traditionally doesn't have. I know he had it last year on his 97 card, but that's still a great addition.

Respectfully, I promise Vida Blue will not be a lefty deGrom. His funky motion and release make him incredibly difficult to hit. Arguably as effective as a good sinker.

I don’t give a **** about what a youtuber can say but I guarantee I played yo goofy ahh with vida I’m giving up runs but if I run cliff lee out there it’s a complete game mercy rule shutout. I wasn’t rated 1000 last season because I wasn’t effective

I am grinding 40 wins purely for Blue. He is an end game card.
They'll prob end up fixing Sinkers and the fact they move about so much anyway. So dont get stuck into using only sinker pitchers because if they nerf it you'll be screwed

Sinkers have been broken since at least 17. I highly doubt they are getting fixed

Sinkers have been broken since at least 17. I highly doubt they are getting fixed
Makes sense then, this is the first DD ive played since 18 i think so didnt realise it had been such a problem.
I did think when that POTM Burnes came out and the fact the Sinker was moving like some sort of insane Cutter it didnt look right!
