Last call to get on the Trevor Rogers goes gold train

That would be killer.
I have invested about 325k in a certain card I hope goes diamond. If not Friday, maybe the one afterwards. I have 315 cards bought at just over QS value so I'm not taking a real loss if he stays gold and never goes diamond. But, if he does, I got almost 1.6 mill coming my way.

Kevin Gausman or Zack Wheeler?

Neither. Rafael Devers.
They need to drop Sale since he's hurt and replace with Devers. H'es tearing it up at 3b. Best in the AL the last time I checked. I really won't have a lot of time to play before the update, so I'm not worried now about his price going up.
Heck, I bought about 175 of his cards in the last day for 1002 stubs each. No risk whatsoever.

Honestly, SDS doesn't pay attention to players stats. They seemingly randomly pick upgrades and downgrades.

POTM Winker is the perfect example of this.

I've also invested heavily in Gausman and Semien I just hope I'm right about 1 of the 2.

Ah. Yeah I was looking at Devers maybe 10 days ago. I held off on investing in him since his defense is pretty awful. He'll need Castellanos-type offensive stats to go diamond. It's not out of the realm of possibility, but I thought there were better investments. If you got them at pretty much QS value though, it's risk-free. I have 67 Zack Wheeler's and I got the first 30 at QS, I wish I'd bought even more in hindsight I just didn't have the stubs.

There's definitely a randomness to it but it's still a product of their IRL stats. It's not consistent for sure which is what adds the risk element to investing.

That's cool. I just need 4 points to get him diamond, lol. Maybe within a month. I just sold everything to get the stubs. Easy to replace. I can almost finish collections with that 315k if I have to

I think Gausman is more likely than Semien. Semien could actually see a downgrade vs. lefties, he'll probably get a nice bump vs. righties but I have a hard time seeing him going diamond this update. 83 or 84 feels more likely to me. He's also cooled off over the past week.
Gausman deserves to be a diamond, full stop. He's been elite this year.

111 of silver cards? That would net you a measly 111K if he does go gold, minus the stubs you spent on the 111 silver cards. Hardly an investment imo, but for your sake I hope he does go gold. It's better than 0 stubs that's for sure.
This guy flaunting his bankroll calling 111k stubs "measly"
Serious question, do you consider 111K significant?
Of course. 111k gets you one of the lower-tier gate keeper LS cards, and over half way to the likes of DeGrom or Cole. It's not going to change your DD experience the way 1 million stubs would, but it's still a nice chunk of change.
Okay fair enough, I didn't mean it in a degrading manner or in a disrespectful way by the way. I was genuinely curious and you make a good point. I'm also sitting on a silver card, but it have about 1300 of them.
Ok, yeah, that's an INVESTMENT. Who if you don't mind me asking?
It is lol it's kind of gamble because he's a lower rated silver but he has tremendous upside. I'll give one hint because I don't wanna give it away and attract other buyers, but he has above average fielding and he's been heating up the last month or so. So he doesn't need a whole lot of offensive attribute gain to get to that gold level. We'll see what happens tho, if he doesn't go gold I can always flip them.

I'm yet to see his name mentioned by any Twitch or YT creators but I'll eat my shirt if this guy doesn't go gold on Friday. His stats are off the charts and he's pitching more like a Cy Young candidate than someone deserving of a 77 OVR. I'm honestly debating holding him in case he goes diamond later in the year. Other than a highish walk rate, his numbers are phenomenal. Sell now prices sits at 674, there's still a chance to get in on some free stubs if you're looking at some investments.
That's a risky investment and one that does not get you a lot of stubs even if he does go gold.
-
I had 250 Joey Wendle before he went gold. Got them all at 200.
Even for somebody that has ZERO hesitation for spending cash, I find it fun to get a hit for 250k.
There's zero shame in investing in silver going gold, and even for 100 cards. Good for that guy.

Look up his stats if you haven't done so already. There's no chance this man stays a silver this year. He could have a decent regression and still go gold.

In that case why has Lance Lynn not gone diamond yet?

Silver to gold at QS is 10x while gold to diamond is 5x. The only time I would advise switching from silvers to golds is if you are at the order placement cap.

He has an extremely high chance of going diamond tomorrow. I think the reason he hasn't gone diamond yet is because the ratings are dictated by the per/9's and their IRL equivalent, Lynn's ERA has been outstanding but his k/9, bb/9, etc. are not that different from his in-game ratings.
Also, diamond is a much higher bar to reach than gold. For someone like Rogers, they'd juice his stats a bit to get him to gold with how good his pitching. They don't do that quite as much for diamond upgrades.
