Showdown is a Gift

I started to get the hang of it, being patient and utilizing your perks are the most important. I also stack my team with power hitters. I usually make it to the second showdown and skip to the final with about 8 runs toward it. It can be frustrating but IMO better than moments and a great fast way to get good diamonds in team affinity.
Not to mention, you can make all of your stubs back and then some.

You say this, but I've had 3 pitcher only rounds so far, and my best diamond option was FoTF Byron Buxton. So Instead of a Mitch Garver I have a Jose Berrios, and instead of a Eloy/Soler, I have extra relief pitchers and Adam Engel

Yeah I understand. I've had that also. I've only completed and attempted the AL East and AL West. I found the AL West had better hitter options than AL East. It obviously changes for everyone however...

I'll say this as well. the NL East has bad gold rounds as well. There's like, a 75% chance you roll Marcell Ozuna

Update: Max Scherzer is still a cheat code. With Trea Turner on first he threw 49 straight pitches without a slide step, then on the one pitch I touch L2 he throws a pitchout and I lose showdown

You do realize that the mode is nothing more than a series of chained moments with an all or nothing reward right?

Yep, I just appreciate how this utilizes moments, as I should have stated instead.

Just a thought I had (that would maybe make people less frustrated) is to actually have them like Moments. You might fail but you can keep retrying them until you pass them? I know that will make them quite a bit easier. I don't know. Just a thought.

I agree, I would love to just keep trying until I get it, even if it takes 20 tries it's better than getting kicked out. because when you get kicked out you don't even want to try again

Thanks for this. I’m someone who plays almost exclusively online and don’t have much interest for offline but do want some cards. Online I’m a solid player, make ws every season multiple 12 win br runs so I can play well enough. In your opinion how long should a showdown run take for an above average player? There are about 3 or 4 cards I really want but I also feel like the next round of cards will be great and I don’t want to wait till then to start.

CPU fielding is insanely upgraded. Common fielding stats making diving and jumping plays too often

I have completed two final Showdown runs in about 90 min. That is completing them back-to-back of course. As for not starting it now because of interest in new Face of the Franchise cards, I would still complete the Showdowns for the divisions you want to complete. There is a good chance that the next round will have something to with upgrading the already existing Face of the Franchise cards. Keep in mind until the next stage is active Team Affinity points will not carry over.
Hope this helps...

That's not random nor shocking to me..Last yr proved that...I made 2 diving catches all last yr the CPU makes 2 in 1 game and my guys have way better fielding and reaction and speed..The numbers on cards don't mean to much anyway take it all with a grain of salt..

well said - the handicaps are absurdly different pending on your draw - SDS needs to wake up on so many levels here - the whole board is reporting tons of bugs, glitches, animations, the list is on and on

Thanks for the help. May give al East a shot. The Torres card looks great.

Torres is by far the best player in the AL East imo. That Sale showdown is no joke. Also takes me a while to do the Ryu one. I can't hit that pus changeup for the life of me.

Moments and showdowns alike... isn’t it always great when you get a home run robbed in an inning? Only one thing makes it better.... 2 robbed home runs in an inning.
-
Do you think we can hold on to Team Affinity tickets till the new sets come out or would new tickets come out?
