Well the answer is somewhat obvious maybe, but there are pros and cons to both. Leaving it on leaves one side open and makes you vulnerable for the late hit doubles. Turning it off makes you vulnerable against the pull hitters.

I always turn it off because if you can pull it for a base hit then kudos to you, that's good hitting. If you hit a double on a late jammed shot against the shift, that's awful hitting and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I disagree. If your pitching patterns to say Griffey has you pitching low and away offspeed I am going to sit back and go the other way slapping past your 3rd baseman. That's not awful hitting but actually great hitting, that taste in your mouth would still be awful though..Any coach would say "Hey nice sitting back and going with the pitch"! Yes it's called going with pitch again is great hitting.

I leave it on; if someone tries to exploit it then I switch it; only faced one opponent who tried to so no big deal.

Pretty sure he meant if someone gets a jammed hit opposite field

Not in the 800s yet but I’ve made WS before. Always turn it off. Way too many bloop jam shots.

9 out of 10 hits going against the shift are unintentional jammed hits.

I always have the shift turned off. It is so easy to go oppo in this game by just swinging a tad late. I can’t tell you how many doubles & even triples I’ve gotten with Posada by simply pushing the ball to left.

For others. I got a few as well. I aim for that hit alot. On a baseball side of things jammed, bloop hits etc are part of baseball brother. Have a great night and a good week.

Versus the auto shift (which I flipping hate that it's the default setting) if I have a LH hitter who can run a bit like Bellinger, for instance, I'll show bunt. While I really having any intention of bunting, often it will force them to take the shift off. And not just for that AB, but all applicable situations the rest of the game. Auto shift takes away a lot of hits so I really don't want them to use it lol

I usually bunt a few times to pull my opponent out of the shift if your competitive auto shouldn't be an option.

It’s hilarious when people still have shift on and keep pitching you outside. Absolutely defies the logic of using the shift.

If you’re gonna use it, you kinda have to pitch for it

Well arguably against most players it causes them to hit weak pulled grounders on off speed pitches. Most people seem to be early on them. Of course I haven’t played many past 700 so it may change at the higher levels so I definitely understand that is dumb with advanced hitters.
