As a Ranger's fan I do not choose to recognize Bautista lol
"Well Odor is now 2 for 5 today..."
Rather get sucker punched in May than knocked out twice in a row in October
...but they did get knocked out twice in a row in October.
Anyway, on topic...
Ruth
Gehrig
Mantle
MoFirst three are locks. Could possibly swap Mo for Joe Dimaggio or Yogi Berra I guess but feel like I got to go to Mo here.
That's what I meant I'm a Jays fan...
And if you go Berra, you'd probably have to go Jeter first before him.... The list is long with the Bombers though.. lol. I'd go Joe D. Bridged the gap between Ruth and Mantle perfectly. Impossible to strike out

Yankees is a tough one... Dimaggio, Reggie, and Jeter could all have easily fit in there.

Don Mattingly
Mariano Rivera
Derek Jeter
Bernie WilliamsBorn in 76. Mattingly was my first favorite and still favorite player ever. He handed the captain's baton to Jeter who along with Mo and Bernie won 4 titles in 5 years while I was in early 20's. I went to each ticker tape parade. As a proud Puerto Rican, Bernie was one of the first Puerto Rican born stars that was a team cornerstone. Posada and Pettitte both get close as well a the soft spot in my heart for Paul O'Neill.

I’m a huge Yankees fan. For me it’s about the childhood nostalgia.
Jeter

Paul O’Neil -
For the O's:
- Ripken, Jr.
- Palmer
- Murray
- B. Robinson
Also for the Blue Jays fans posting, no arguments, but I often forget how good Vernon Wells and Tony Fernandez were. Maybe honorable mentions there.

Tom Glavine/Greg Maddox (Thats like asking a parent to pick favorite child)
Chipper Jones
Hank Arron

Vernon Wells used to absolutely own me in older MLB games.

Jeter
Mo
Bernie
Paul O’NeilI'd have the same problem with a nostalgia based one. At least all time is easier since 3 guys are basically absolute locks.
Loved Bernie. Jeter and Mo obviously tops from the 90s/00s.
Played 2B in little league (and Pitcher) and loved Chuck Knoblach (despite his garbage arm).
Mattingly, Tino, Paulie, Soriano, Cano. Equestrian expert Wade Boggs. El Duque (lets not pretend every young yankee fan didn't use his windup and leg kick playing whiffle ball). Need an entire mountain range to list based on "favorites" -

Meh.. he had an MVP sure, though it's one he shouldn't have won.. but other than that, he was kind of overrated. I'd go Vernon or Joe Carter over him. Joe for his postseason heroics, Vernon for his 5 tool game..
Josh Donaldson in his first 2 years as a Jay produced the same WAR George Bell did in a decade lol

Stever RogersVlad? No? I mean Carter left similar to like he did.
And expos Vlad was awesome!!!The question is impact in history of the team; Rusty Staub was the first star the Expos had, Carter the biggest, Raines 2nd and Rogers the most impactful pitcher in their history. Carter, Raines and Rogers got them to their only postseason, and some of the best (Walker, Pedro, Vlad) weren't here long enough/traded for money reasons.

Great points! And ya, Carter is Mr. Expo to me. Dude was everything you could ask for behind the plate. Pure class too.
Obviously a dark time for Montreal Expos fans at the end, but I just remember skinny Vlad destroying baseballs for them and gunning dudes down left and right. He was so good in those 7 or so years there. -

He was so good in those 7 or so years there.Yeah, the gunning down is a bit overinflated; for every guy he got on base, he'd overthrow the cutoff or hit the backstop with his throws. Felipe Alou didn't want to coach him for fear of neutering him, but that made him bad at fielding, baserunning, plate discipline. I'll take Larry Walker over Vlad any day of the week just for the basic and intelligence at the game. Vlad was the best talent I've seen and could have been even better. If you put arms side by side on the 80/20 scouting scale, I'd go 80/40 power/accuracy for Vlad and 70/70 for Walker.
Can you imagine Guerrero if he had learned to take pitches, aim his throws and how to turn bases? When he came up I thought he'd give Griffey a run for his money, but he was wasted here.
And yea, concerning Carter, if my mom had met him in real life, I'd probably have a curly blonde baby brother or sister...

Cubs:
Ernie Banks
Ron Santo
Fergie Jenkins
Kris BryantTough to leave put Billy Williams but Kris Bryant was the best player on the team that actually won a title so that counts a lot especially for the loveable losers

Wasted feels like a stretch.. he was putting up 150+ wRC+'s every year.. despite swinging at everything.. I hear ya that he was a "loose cannon" though. Larry was much more zoned in with great fundamentals of the game. True 5 tool legend.
Ya, Guerrero could have been even better, but he wild ways is what made him so dangerous imo..
Larry was surrounded by much better players obviously.. the '94 expos were the best expos.. sad
