Nope didn’t miss the point, your just making a complaint that is made every year about the “OP” sinker. They’re not going to fix it just like they didn’t fix it last year or the year before that or the year before that. Instead I would just concentrate on learning to hit the pitch. Btw, I used to be in your camp when it came to the sinker but I made a concerted effort to not allow myself to get beat with it. Now it’s go up there at your own risk. I’ll turn it around if you abuse it.

The point is, they’re trying to make this a realistic competitive sports game, gameplay wise anyway. There has never been a pitcher alive who was successful throwing high sinkers lol. It’s dumb.

The thing about the sinker is if you are good at reading pitches and taking balls out of the zone....some of the sinker locations with certain pitchers defy physics so your brain takes a strike because it doesn’t make any sense how the pitch moves.
I will agree with you that once you see it enough you should be able to adjust and identify the sinker early and swing appropriately. You have to kind of identify it being a hard pitch and swing not waiting for the movement. I think that is how my brain has learned to hit it, not really sure but I can hit it pretty easily now.
It would be nice if the physics on it made sense and you could logically track the pitch without having to cheat on it.

The pitch comes out of the hand like a breaking ball. It's broken. It needs to be fixed.

Changeup and sliders high in zone are unrealistic, why not mention those? Easier to hit? If people are gonna use excuse of realism in arguement then don't half @ss it. Argue it 100% not just what benefits you. (when i say you i mean in general )

They could also speed up fastballs so it isn’t a Homerun derby fastball.

IMO there's a big penalty when you actually hit one of these pitches in the game. I feel like any high slider is easy to read and I've hit so many HR's on these pitches. So personally I think they already punish guys who throw those pitches.

Not the point, shouldn't have to look in that part of zone for that type of pitch at all. You aim any of those pitches there should be a massive accuracy penalty.

Killer obviously abuses this pitch. Its a complete joke you can throw a sinker high in the SZ and it still whip up before breaking down.

It might just be impossible to code it so that a pitch moves differently based on where it is located in the zone. I don't have any basis for that it's just a thought.

Tons of people do this in ranked. Sure it’s annoying but you rock it a couple times and they tend to stop throwing it there.
It’s not as bad as last year tho, felt like Oprah made the game and was handing out sinkers to everyone. You get a sinker, you get a sinker, everyone gets a sinker.

It’s physics are totally shot. It comes out like a breaking pitch and seems to speed up at the last second. It’s not unhittable but it is off and needs to be reworked

I disagree. The pitch should just flatten out and lose the break. If I want to threw a slider I should be able to throw it wherever I want.

The fix for these pitches is to have the strike zone shrink some when the off speed pitch is up in the zone. Just eliminate top 1/4 of zone when you throw off speed up because it would be called a strike up there.

Either way i agree some sort of a more drastic fix is needed. I was just offering 1 of many possibilities.

The only thing they need to do is to keep it from rising out of the hand. Right now it appears to be an off-speed pitch out of the hand.
