Besides the fact that the meme was played out 6 months ago, I fail to understand how someone who uses zone hitting, and thinks the new, less rewarding hitting is better fits that definition. It seems to be exactly the opposite case.

Issue; When the ball is squared up we are seeing swing timing=good/ contact result=okay thus a ton of outs and unfavorable results which includes all game modes including offline such as moments
little billy complex; "yippie. I can now compete where as before I was getting smoked". (see op as example).
The meme was not "played out" months ago when it remains entirely applicable.

The problem is the timing windows are all messed up. I keep getting good/okay swings with the ball dead center PCI. It’s just random outcomes now.

I'm just frustrated. If you like it then good for you. I'm out of line though by calling you out. My apologies. It's just with this new patch this offline content is difficult especially showdown. When you know you are hitting it well yet the results arent given. Maybe I'm the little billy in that regard and, if it wasnt effecting most, I'd agree with that.

It’s a dumpster fire. Just lost an event game in 8 innings where I had (no exaggeration) 8 good/okay fly out on center swings. Apparently, SDS decided to go with rng over user input once again.

@KyleS779 i just think people are underestimating how difficult hitting is irl and are just frustrated with a lot of fly outs and stuff. Mlb hitters get hits 25% of the time and over the course of a 9 inning RS game we square it up just as much as they do if not more. Putting a good but not amazing swing on a ball and not getting a hit is realistic. But yeah everyone is frustrated with some part of the game this happens every year at launch. Also I was 12-0 pre patch and I’m 6-8 since, so little billy really doesn’t apply. I’m way worse since the patch but it’s made the game so much more fun for me. Hopefully the next patch gives us both what we want which I’m confident it will.

The problem, for me, is the offline content. When it comes to moments, to showdown, the player needs to be rewarded especially when the pitcher is throwing dot after dot. I understand that, in real life, that if a hit is earned even 30% of the time then that player is most likely very talented. But this is a video game. It's not real life. And actual objectives are trying to be met for challenges that SDS has provided. With this new patch, I'm sorry, but the proper tools to be able to meet these goals, for the most of us, are not being provided and have actually been removed. To add onto that we are having to pay stubs to even make the attempt. This leads, obviously, to a lot of frustration. They need to revert that patch and tighten up the pitching when it comes to online play. The moments, the showdown, that pitching has already been tightened up.

@JFazNYY13 ranked seasons is on all star who cares what it’s like on hof? If you increase the difficulty from where SDS sets it then it should be too hard lol.

Ranked seasons is only on All Star until you hit 700. Then it's HOF until 900, then Legend... The game is so hard on the higher difficulties it's not even playable.

That’s fair I do think showdown etc. is pretty tough. I mostly play online so not an expert but I guess they should lower difficulty for offline cause I think online hitting is what it needs to be.

Didn’t know that that’s interesting I assume pitching is on hof too tho? Idk it just doesn’t seem right when the best player in the world is like 70-3 with a 6+ ERA.

I never actually said that I liked the change. In fact I have been fairly vocal about not liking it. I just disagreed that anything about the change benefited the so-called "little billys" in any possible way.

I don’t understand the hate. I recently complained about too much offense and since the patch the hitting engine seems amazing. I agree that pitcher control, timing window, and defense animations need to be fixed, but the pci placement’s effect on contact seems perfect. You need to really square it up to hit it hard, which I realistic. In past games if it was within the pci at all it was considered good placement, now you need to even get it in the middle of the pci, which makes sense. Hitting is a very difficult task in real life, and this new patch reflects that. And in my experience when it is squared up it goes a very long way. Pre-patch was great for people that wanted to smash every other pitch 500 feet, not for those that want to play baseball. If you’re looking to hit the ball as far as you can without any difficulty, hop into online home run derby. But for DD, the gameplay is so much better post patch. Please SDS make the same changes to custom leagues games as well not just DD. Thanks.
New hitting is trash. revert it. anything DS and up is bad on HOF and legend -
