They did say that it's an award card. That rules out Billy Williams, Maddux & Sutcliffe.
I'm going with a '71 Cy Young Fergie Jenkins. I don't know how useable he'll be but per 9's will be great as well as velocity & control. One of his old catchers said on his command: "I could catch him with a pair of pliers"
Cy Young is an awards card. So it could be Sutcliffe still, yet I don't see where it said its an awards card. Just that its an award winner who played in the 70s 80s.
It'd be an odd one if it was Sutcliffe. I figured they wouldn't give him a CHC Cy card since he got traded halfway through the season from CLE.
Except he was lights out for Chicago. He was already good for the Indians, but when he went to Chicago he was even better. Thats why I think its a 2nd half card.

Sutter.
That is all.
I wanted to go out of the box, think of a new legend opposed to the same recycled ones we get year in, year out.
-
Doesn't say new on the schedule and an all star card. Doesn't say new legend, tweet says award winner that played in the 70s and 80s. It's Bruce Sutter

I wouldn't be shocked if we don't get Rick this time if he gets a 2nd half though. It's a pretty stark contrast when you look at those numbers before and after the trade.
1984, with CLE: 4-5, 5.15 ERA in 94.1 IP, 15 G, 1.664 WHIP
1984, with CHC: 16-1, 2.69 ERA in 150.1 IP, 20 G, 1.078 WHIPEDIT: Not confirmed to be an award card. The wild comparison will remain but I'm editing my incorrect assertion.

Nice carch with the All-Star. In that case it could be a 1987 Sutcliffe who finished 2nd in CY Young voting. You're likely right it is probably Sutter, but Sutcliffe still fits the criteria, only downside being he would be a new legend.

If it is a new legend could be Steve Carlton, If not could be Jenkins, Guidry, or Vida Blue,

Sutcliffe won a Cy Young in 1984.
See previous reply from me, it was a split season where he was bad with the Indians then won the award the remainder of the season with the Cubs.

Guidry works but Vida and Fergie both played in the 60s, so depends how strict they are by that. I think It's Sutter though

Williams won ROTY, but he didn't play into the 80s, so, that rules him out.
Greg Maddux won Cy Youngs, but didn't play in the 70s.
Sutcliffe won the Cy Young in 84, played in the 70s and 80s, so it's gotta be him if it's a new legend.
If it's not a new legend, it could be Dawson, Sutter, or Fergie. There are a few gold glovers and silver sluggers in there, but they certainly aren't legend-worthy (looking at you, Jody Davis)

Unless Bruce Sutter was in the game previously I’d say Fergie. They wouldn’t put Andre as a program back to back years and Sandberg already has a high diamond

I'm not seeing the logic on Guidry. The tweet shows a picture of the shadow of the Wrigley flags...Guidry never played outside New York.
Fergie played from 65-83. The tweet says played in the 70s-80s. Doesn't necessarily mean that excludes the 60s.

Jody Davis didn't play in the 70s anyway.
Only assumption I'm making is the program card was a Cub in both the 70s and 80s (they don't claim this at all) so this to me says Fergie or Sutter. Both won CY Youngs and were All stars with the Cubs. Also why I dont think Sutcliffe would be it as he started as a Dodger.
Doesnt say they only played in the 70's and 80s and as I noted earlier, Fergies 2 year return in the 80s might be forgettable enough. SDS loves using weird things like this as potential misleading clues.

The Jody Davis was a joke. He wasn't very good.
As for the 70s and 80s, I don't know that it necessarily means they were a cub in both decades. But the only substantial players that won awards for the cubs that also played in the 70s-80s are Dawson, Fergie, Sutcliffe, and Sutter. If the all caps NEW means anything, then the only one of those it could be is Sutcliffe, as we've had Dawson, Fergie, and Sutter before. Someone above mentioned they lost the rights to Dawson, I don't even know where to find that info, but if that's the case, then Fergie, Sutter, or Sutcliffe would be the only options.

Showing Wrigley implies that they were a cub when they won the award

I'm just assuming they were a Cub for both years and when they won as part of the image.
Regarding the rights thing...I saw a video on it. Basically someone went through the offline historic rosters that has a bunch of legends and there were a few from previous years that weren't in the game yet which indicates they didn't have the rights. Ted Williams and Ty Cobb were also on that list I believe as notable ones that come to mind.

Sutter has indeed been in the game for several years now.

Fergie and Sutter are good guesses. Could be Andre Dawson also, but I know he was player program like last year. Based on the years they played I think it is Sutter as Fergie dipped into the 60s and Dawson into the 90s.
Dawson wont be in the game this year

Lol I didn't even bother looking at the picture. It's Sutter. Usually they are pretty specific with their clues so I don't see Fergie being an option
